Task/Duty : Mask Treatment

Non setting mask

- These consist of ready-prepared cream mask

 Cream mask are quick and easy to apply. They have a cooling, refreshing,
softening effect upon the skin and can be used for helping to control specific skin
problem. The are cream masks available for all skin types.
 Gel mask containing ingredients suck as collagen and seaweed products are
mildly astringent and cool the skin. They have soothing, calming, moisturizing
and tightening effects which reduce the appearance of line and wrinkles. Gel
mask are particularly suitable for mature, sensitive skin.
 Biological mask have a gentle but effective action on the skin. They are based on
natural ‘active’ ingredients such as flower, plant, herbal and vegetable extracts.
Available as cream , gels or emulsions. They form a light on the skin which
becomes firm and dry but does not tighten. The biologically active ingredients
have different effects on the skin depending on their source.
 Soft fruits: correct the pH balance of a dry skin and increase its moisture
level.
 Plant: stimulate the circulation and increase cell metabolism
 Herbs and vegetable: tone, stimulate balance and regenerate a problem
skin
 Marine products: hydrate and stabilize the skin.

Paraffin wax mask

- Paraffin wax mask retain their heat and warm the skin. This promotes sweating which
deep-cleanses and softens the skin. Paraffin wax mask stimulate the blood supply.
Causing the skin to go slightly pink. They are not suitable for very sensitive skin.
- It also suitable for hand, leg and body treatment.
Thermal mask

- These mask contain mineral ingredients which are mixed to a paste and applied to the
skin over a special skin cream. After a few minutes the paste begins to harden and a
chemical reaction occurs between the ingredients which creates heat and arm the
surface tissue. The heat disperses after twenty minutes, after which time the mask
becomes rigid and can be eased away form the skin.
- This mask has powerful deep-cleansing, tightening and stimulating effect the heat
produced encourage absorption of the cream applied underneath.
- Clients with a nervous disposition or who have sensitive skin are not suitable for
treatment.
- It is suitable for mature and dry skin.

Specialized mask

- soft mask : (can be individual /double + cream / gel mask) with gauze.
 Chamomile – soothing, calming, balancing
 Herbal x 2- control pimples, balancing, anti – septic
 Natural moisture mask – moisture, dehydrated, reduce wrinkles, mature skin.
 Enzymes – all skin
 Pearl mask – whitening, soften skin
- Modeling mask
 Cold modeling mask – normal, oily, sensitive
 Maxi cold – hydrates, soothing, calming
 Schaum mask (foam mask)
 Thermal ho mask – dry, mature, eye treatment

- Cream mask
 Herbal mark – deep cleansing, antiseptic, firming, soothing
 Purifying cream mask – oily combination
 Whitening – pigmentation, discoloration
 Azulene – dry, sensitive
 Black – normal, oily, acne, congested
- Gel mask
 Matri gel – all skin except pimple skin
 Green tea – all skin, eye mask
 Collagen (from plant/animal- young lamb < expensive and better effect) – all skin,
eye mask
 Paraffin wax – dry, mature, eye mask (3rd class petroleum oil)
 Liposomes gel – conducting gel

- Plastic rubber mask (don’t need gauze)

 Moisturizing plastic mask – dehydrating
 Decongestive – prevent congestion, deep cleansing
