Nicole: A magnitude of 8.5 earthquake hit Mindanao causing a lot of casualties to the region. Almost
500 people lost their lives, 300 are injured and 80 people are missing. The search is still on the go that is
why it is a must to prepare on such earthquake.

Ivan: We would like to talk about the preparation before, during and after an earthquake.
Carlos: first, before an earthquake. Make sure you have a fire extinguisher, first aid kit, a battery-
powered radio, a flashlight, and extra batteries at home. (ipakita yung mga equipments)
Carlos: Make up a plan of where to meet your family after an earthquake. Learn how to turn off the gas,
water, and electricity.
Ivan: Next is during an earthquake. The most important thing you should know when there is an
earthquake is to Dock, Cover and Hold. (demonstrate)
Ivan: Stay calm! If you're indoors, stay inside. , stand against a wall near the center of the building, stand
in a doorway, or crawl under heavy furniture (a desk or table).
Ivan: If you're outdoors, stay in the open away from power lines or anything that might fall. Stay away
from buildings
Ivan: If you're in a car, stop the car and stay inside the car until the earthquake stops.
Carlos: last is after an earthquake. First is to check yourself and others for injuries. Provide first aid for
anyone who needs it.
Carlos: Turn on the radio. Stay out of damaged buildings. And be careful around broken glass and debris.
