MINUTES OF SPT MEETING

The SIP Committee gathered for the first time face-to-face, for SIP meeting.
The main goals and achievements of these meetings were:

AGENDA:

1. Enhancement of SIP for the next 3 School Years


2. Agree about the roles of each SPT member
3. Outline an action plan within the set time-frame for
creation of PTs, and identification of PIAs
4. DepEd Vision, Mission and Core Values Sharing

The School Principal explained about the school’s current situation in


relevance to the formulation of SIP for the next three school years. Better
understanding was enabled by in depth presentations and Q&As using the
School’s latest SRC; the Approach was agreed upon which resulted in
creating “FAQs about the school’s current situation and the Action Plan was
outlined and is still under construction; several issues were opened.

After knowing the school’s current situation, Mr. Stephen Generoso, the PTA
President motioned that there is a need to craft new SIP, which was
unanimously approved by the team.
The team was then asked about their Roles and Responsibilities in the
crafting and execution of the enhanced SIP, which was summarized into the
following;

1. School Head - Convenes the planning team, Provides leadership


and guidance in the development of the school improvement plan,
Facilitates actual planning workshop.

2. Faculty Club President- Provide needed information relative to


teaching and learning process, Actively participate during the
development of the SIP.

3. Barangay Captain- •Share valuable information on the interest of


the community in school improvement and participate in setting
goals, strategies and priorities of the school.

4. PTA President- Commit available resource in the implementation of


the plan, Share insights about what their children need to learn
and the difficulties they face in school, their aspiration for the
school and their children, present other areas of concerns, and
participate in setting goals, strategies and priorities of the school.

5. SPG President- Share unique insights about their difficulties in the


school and participate in setting goals, strategies and priorities of
the school.

6. School DRRMC- Share insights about the importance of disaster


preparedness, and Commit available resources

7. School-Child Protection Committee Member- Share insights about


the implementation of the School Child Protection Policy, and
ensure that all teaching staff including the school head, pupils and
parents has an basic awareness about the protection of children in
school.

The time frame in the formulation of the new SIP was drafted by the School
Principal which was also unanimously approved by the team, to wit;

Discussion of the DepEd Vission, Mission and Core Values was also
facilitated by the School Principal and was recorded as follows;

What does this mean for us? What are our own dreams for the
children of our school?

Faculty President - I dreamt for some successful, professional and fulfilled


individuals in the coming years and those people are my school children.
They are the HOPE of the nation and WE as teachers has the role and the
capacity to build, guide, mold them as law-abiding, model and successful
professionals.

GPTA President -My own dreams for my children of our school is how I wish
they will become a better one. They pursue their dreams to better individual
physically, mentally, socially, morally and spiritually.

Barangay Secretary (Representative of the Barangay Captain)- We dream


that our school children of Minaog Elementary School will have a wholesome
personality in words, thoughts and deeds not only for their selves but for the
nation.
School-Child Protection Committee -For me, it means that as an educator
we are entrusted to developed these young ones to be a responsible one in
our country, to rule the nation in the future. In our school we are aiming to
produce this kind of children by helping them in enhancing their innate
potentials so that they can compete and be competent globally.”

SDRRM Coordinator -The first paragraph of the DepEd’s vision means that
we, as Filipinos values not just our country and our culture but also the
potentials of our learners. The country needs them and with the help of the
teachers and everyone in DepEd, success will be within reach. The learner’s
success is a contribution to the nation’s future.

What does being ‘learner-centered’ and ‘continuously improving’ mean
for us?

Faculty President- Learner-centered and continuously improving mean to


me learn in a child friendly, safe and motivating environment. As a teacher
we should know the background history of their family so that we will know
how we are going to handle them.”

GPTA President -Learner-centered for me means we do not stop our learners


to learn for the better future and continue to improve and realize their
dreams.

Barangay Secretary Representative of the Barangay Captain)-We want to


develop learners who are true citizens and patriotic who have a strong desire
to serve the country and work for its development. We want them to know
how to improve themselves and realize their dreams.

SPG President-Learner centered means education based on the child


capacity, going deeper to our needs and understanding. “

School-Child Protection Committee Member- As a learner centered


institution even though we are dealing different individuals but still we are
oblige to teach them equally, giving each of them the opportunity to learn
despite of their differences. As a teacher we have also improve our selves to
be more effective and for us to render a quality education to them.

SDRRM Coordinator-Learner-centered means we put the learners’ growth


and development first. We make the learners realize their own potential and
allow themselves to explore more and understand that everyone is special
and everyone has a gift.

How can we contribute to this? What is the role of each one?

Faculty President-As teachers, we are to facilitate learning and constantly


nurture every learner. We should ensure a supportive environment so that
an effective learning will happen. We should act as a role model to them as a
good example to them.

GPTA President -As a parent, I should help the school in developing it into a
child friendly environment where our children stay safe. I should also
provide a strong link between other parents and as well as to the outside
community of the school so that we can have a constant access of resources
and assistance.

Barangay Secretary (Representative of the Barangay Captain)- The Barangay


council have a strong role in helping the school in many ways. We will
always support to whatever endeavor the school have.

SPG President-Being a pupil in this school, I have to help my co-learners in


promoting good moral values and most of all love God above all things. We
have to support our teachers and the School Head to all our projects and
programs.

School-Child Protection Committee Member - As teachers it is our task to


deal our children in a friendly way and in a motivating environment, giving
them the opportunity to engage and we have to support them in every
challenge they encounter to have an effective learning.

SDRRM Coordinator- The role of the school and the teachers to the learners
can be interpreted in many ways the school is the second home, the
teachers are the second parents, and the community is the nearest relative
that we can have.

(DepEd Core values)


What values should we possess that support the core values? How
should we be (what should our thoughts and actions be) so we can
demonstrate these core values? How will these values help us fulfill
the vision and mission?

Faculty President-We should possess the following: a God-fearing person, we


should be humane, we should possess LOVE without jurisdiction, love
without discrimination. Being responsible for the welfare of our pupils will
help a lot. Understanding them specially their background (history) will lead
us mentors where, what and how to teach them. All of these vales may lead
us in guiding, molding and making successful individuals.
GPTA President- Be a role model. Being responsible at all times. Everything I
do should be in accordance with the custom I know as Filipino.

Barangay Secretary(Representative of the Barangay Captain) -The core


values teach us to have love for God, love for fellow men, love for nature, and
love for our country.”

SPG President- Love, patience, kindness and helpfulness support the core
values because without love of God we are nothing.

SDRRM Coordinator -Discipline and respect as demonstrated by self-respect


and respecting others regardless of differences: treating others with dignity,
empathy and compassion and the ability to earn the respect of others.

3. Closure

After all the discussions and deliberations, the School Principal inquired if
there further questions and gave his acknowledgement to each members of
the SPT for their attendance and active participation. Mrs. Benitez motioned
for the dismissal of the meeting which was seconded by Mrs. Malificiar. The
meeting ended at exactly 3:45 in the afternoon.
