Preliminary guide
Students need to be instructed on what is a learning strategy and how to engage in strategic
learning. This guide is a beginning that learners may continue to follow autonomously.
Instructional objective:
Goal at the end of the course: Students will strengthen sociolinguistic and grammatical
competence through the use of listening activities.
Type of knowledge: Procedural knowledge: Students will ask themselves questions before,
during and after listening, and look for the answers in the lyrics if there is one.
Students will have to figure out what the concern portrayed in the song is.
Aim of the class: Students will organize ideas through graphic organizer expressing the
causes, arguments and consequences of a specific topic
1. Listen to the song “Heal the world” and fill the gaps
2. Write the problem that refer the missing words according to the song
Outcome: Students will recognize and answer a world problem according a graphic
organizer
Follow up: The teacher will deliver to the students a conflict resolution graphic organizer
which they had to complete according to the ideas they could infer from the song Heal the
world.
Assessment and evaluation: In order to assess our students we will use the following
rubric:
