Competency Assessment is in accordance with the competency assessment methodologies and
procedures.

So I have here your Self Assessment Guide so this is sn indication that you know and can perform all the
units of competency for this qualification.

So today, I am going to administer Competency Assessment for Tourism Promotion Services. The purpose
of this competency assessment is to determine your level sof competency for this qualification.

So, in Tourism Promotion Services it is compose of 3 competencies. The Basic, Common and Core
competencies.

So in our Core Competency we have:

1. Operate technology-based information System.

2. Provide information and advice on a destination peoducts or services.s

3. Promote Tourism Products and Services.

So, the different task that you need to perform today are the following:

1. Create a brochure about the different tourist destinations found in Negros Oriental.

2. Create a 3D2N dumaguete tour package.

The methods that I am going to use in collecting evidences are demonstration and oral questioning. So
this assessment methods will help me ensure your underpinning knowledge and skills for tourism
promotion services.

If you need personal necessity, our CR is just located beside the computer room and if tou need to buy
food pur canteen is just located at the ground floor.

However, during the assessment, you are no longer allowed to leave the premises of the assessment
area.

And if you have any questions or clarifications in understanding the given instruction, please don't
hesitate to ask me because I am very much willing to help you.

And does anybody here who has personal difficulties or hypertension, please tell me so that I can assess
you later on.

And if you have clarification or violent reactions please ask me and once the assessment has already
started please refrain from asking questions because it is no longer allowed.

And once the assessment has already started, cellphones are not allowed so please turn off your phones
and put it in your bag.
The result of your assessment could be COMPETENT and NOT YET COMPETENT.

So after the assessment and you have found to be competent, for the issuance of your National
Certificate, you can claim your National Certificate 5 working days after the assessment and you can
process it for 1 day. You just need to bring 50 pesos for the processing fee and 1 picture passport size
with white background and with collar.

So after the assessment and you have found to be Not Yet Competent, don't worry because you can be
re-assess anytime at your convinience. In case of full qualification and you need to undergo the whole
assessment process again.

However, if you have to be not yet competent in some areas of competency and some areas of
qualification, you have to be re-assess to the areas or units of competency you have found to be not yet
competent.

And if you failed 2 consecutive assessments you will be advice to take remedial course before you can
apply for re-assessment. Ok?

And in case you are not satisfied with the result of your assessment, you can file for an appeal. You can
send your letter to the TESDA provincial office address to the TESDA provincial director.

And I would like to give some do's and don'ts during the assessment.

During the assessment please observe safety. Please make sure that your hands are dry before using the
equipment because we will be using computers later.
When accidents happen or occur, please call my attention immediately so that I can give you first aid.
And when the need arise, please remember that our first aid kit is just located right side of the
assessment center. Feel free to use it if it's needed.

Now, with regards to the result of your assessment, we observe strict confidentiity this is to ensure your
integrity. So the result of your assessment will be made available through the authorize TESDA personnel
only and to the institution where you had your actual training. OK?

And may I request everyone to please refrain from giving any information outside of regarding the
process of the assessment. Ok?
