CONDUCT COMPETENCY ASSESSMENT

Assessor’s Script

As a competency assessor, you must provide a supportive

environment before starting with the assessment activity. You must ensure
that the environment is suitable for the assessment and the candidates are
relaxed and not apprehensive. As soon as you have admitted the candidates,
say:

Good morning candidates!

My name is MARY JANE T. GARCINES, and I am an accredited competency

assessor for DRIVING NC II.

Let me acknowledge first the presence of Mr. Ernesto M. Ogario Jr. our
TESDA representative and our AC manager Jesiebel A. Solano.

You don’t have to worry about their presence because they are just here to
oversee the conduct of competency assessment if it is in accordance with the
prescribed TESDA competency assessment methodologies and procedures.
They will not assess you.

So before we start please stand for the prayer. Amen…

Okay you may now take your sit.

Okay, I will now check your attendance, please present to me your

admission slip once your name is called and please sign the attendance sheet.

So, I have here your accomplished self-assessment guide, so this is an

indication that you can perform all the unit of competency in Driving NC 2.

Today, I am going to administer competency assessment for driving NC 2.

The purpose of competency assessment is to determine your level of

competency for driving NC 2.

So in driving NC 2, it is compose of 3 competencies, the Basic, common

and Core competency. So, in core competency we have
1. Carry out minor Vehicle Maintenance and Servicing
 2. Drive Light vehicle
3. Obey and observed traffic rules and regulations
4. Implement and coordinate Accident-Emergency Procedures.

So, I will collect evidences through written, demonstration and oral

questioning. This assessment method can help me to ensure your
underpinning knowledge and skills in driving NC 2.

By the way, for your personal needs the comfort room located at the end of
the hallway. And for you can also take a meal in our canteen, however during
the assessment you are no longer allowed to leave the premises of the
assessment area. Okay?

If you have any questions or difficulty in understanding the given

instruction so please do not hesitate to ask me because I am willing to assist
you.

Does anybody here has physical difficulties? Please tell me so that I can

If you have clarification just raise your hand so that I can answer. And
once the assessment has already started please refrain from asking questions
because it is no longer allowed.

And addition to that once the assessment has already started some
concerns are not allowed. Please turn off you phone and put it in your bag.
Okay?

After the assessment, if you found to be competent. For the issuance of

National Certificate you can claim your NC at the Provincial Office 5 working
days after the assessment and you can process it one day just bring 50 pesos
for the processing fee and one picture with collar, passport size with white
background.

And after the assessment and you have found to be not yet competent
don’t worry about it you can be reassessed anytime at your convenience.

In case of full qualification you need to undergo the whole assessment

process again.

If you found not yet competent in some unit of competencies you have to
be re assess the unit of competencies you have found to be not yet competent.
If you have failed 2 consecutive assessment you are advised to take a
refresher course before you can apply for a re assessment.

If in case you are not satisfied with the result you can file an appeal, you
can send your letter to the provincial office.

During the assessment please observed safety as we are along our

assessment. If in case accident occur please call me immediately so that I can
give you first aid. In case you need first aid, we have first aid cabinet and feel
free to use it.

Now with regards to the result of your assessment we observe strict

confidentiality to ensure your integrity, the result is available only the
authorized personnel and to the institution where you had your actual
training.

May I hope all candidates to please refrain for giving any information
outside regarding the process of assessment?

Now do you have any questions? No question? Since you don’t have any
question, I will now give you your specific instruction, read carefully and ask
me if you don’t understand something so that I can assist you.

But before we proceed to the actual demonstration, we have first the

written test. I will only give you 30 minutes to answer this. (Distribute the
questionnaire). Do you have any question? If none, you may start now.

Okay you are done? I’m going to collect the paper. Since you are done with
the written test lets proceed to the next test, the actual demonstration

Using the equipment, tools, supplies and materials, you are required to drive
light vehicle within 45 minutes. I will be observing you while you are
performing the tasks. Your time starts now.

Candidates since we are done with the Demonstration of Skills, we will now
have the oral interview. I will be calling you individually.

Hello candidates, we are done with the methods of the assessment, this time I
will give now the results of your assessment. Are you ready? Nervous?
Okay I will call you one by one.

Ms. ________please come here. How’s your feeling?

Okay, based on the assessment criteria enumerated in this rating sheet, for
your written test you pass, your actual demonstration, you perform well. In
oral questioning, you answer very well. Based on the 3 methods used in this
assessment, you pass it all. In this manner, I pronounce you as COMPETENT.
At this time, kindly affix your signature in this rating sheet as well as the
CARS in the candidate’s signature portion. This is an indication that you
accept my assessment decision. (Present the rating sheet and CARS to the
candidate for him to affix his/her signature. Then, cut the CARS, then give the
Competency Assessment Results Summary CARS to the candidate)

Okay next, Ms. ________please come here. How’s your feeling?

Okay, in the written test you did it well and also in the oral questioning you
did it very well, you were able to answer all my questions correctly. However,
in your actual demonstration, you were not able to perform within the
standards prescribed in this qualification. You have to practice driving light
vehicle. Therefore, I rated you as NOT YET COMPETENT. I will require you to
affix your signature in this rating sheet as well as the CARS in the candidate’s
signature portion. This is an indication that you accept my assessment
decision.

You may come back after a month for reassessment or when you feel confident
enough that you have acquired the competence. Don’t worry; you will only be
reassessed on the parts of the activity that were found to be not yet
competent.

Candidates our assessment has officially ended. Before we will leave the
assessment premises, I would like everyone to perform 5’S. Thank you
candidates for participating this assessment and have a safe journey back
home.
Note: Give a copy of the accomplished Competency Assessment Results
Summary to the candidate (Make sure that the document is signed by the
candidate in the appropriate space then affix your signature.)
Complete the rating sheets together with other documents and submit
these to the Manager of the assessment center.
