Mechanics and Criteria for Jazz Chant

1. The contest piece shall be composed of 1 existing piece (Turn on the Wi-Fi) and 1
original English composition focusing on the theme “
2. Existing piece shall be delivered first followed by the composition.
3. The number of participants shall not be less than fifteen (15) and not more than
twenty-five (25).
4. Costumes and props are allowed.
5. The whole performance shall have the maximum of seven (7) minutes only,
including entrance and exits.
6. The first syllable/word uttered signals the start of the performance, and the last
syllable/word determines the end of the performance.
7. The decision of the board of judges is final and irrevocable.
8. The criteria for judging are as follows:
 Creative Delivery - 35%
 Enunciation and Pronunciation - 30%
 Synchronization - 25%
 Stage Presence - 10%
