ON-THE-SPOT PAINTING

Mechanics and rules of the contest:

1. The painting must be based provided by the judges.


2. The contestant must bring his/her own painting brushes, any kind of brush will be allowed.
All other competition material will provided by your designated teams.
3. The contestant will use water base paint. Materials will provided by your designated teams.
Only the three primary colors (red, blue and yellow) and two neutral colors (black and
white) shall be allowed.
4. Mixing of colors is allowed.
5. Only ¼ size of a canvass shall be allowed.
6. Duration time is within (1) hour.
7. No distinguishing mark or name of the contestant shall appear in the entry.
8. Only the contestant are allowed in the contest area.
9. Judges decision is final.

Charcoal Rendering

Mechanics and Rules of the Contest:

1. Materials will be provided by every teams.


2. The contestant must use pencil from 2B to 8B. Charcoal pencil, art gunner or equivalent,
brush, cotton, tissue paper, sand paper, pantograph and air brush are not allowed.
3. The contestant must use velum with an A4 size.
4. The subject of the contest will be given by the board of judges.
5. The contest duration is for a period of (1) hour.
6. Only the contestant are allowed in the contest venue.
7. No distinguishing mark or name of the contestant shall appear in the entry.
8. Judges decision is final

Folk Dance
Mechanics and Rules of the Contest

1. The dance must be taken from the published Philippine Folk Dance authored by known
dance-researcher-writer published in the book listed below the following are the specific
titles of the books.
a. Philippine Folk Dance, Volume 1-6, by Francisca R. Aquino
b. Philippine National Dance by Francisca R. Tolentino
c. Visayan Folk Dance, volume 1-3, by Lebertad Fajardo
d. Pangasinan Folk Dance by Jovita Sison Friese
e. Sayaw: Dance of the Philippine Island, Volume 1-7 by the Philippine Folk Dance Society
f. Samr Folk Dance by Juan Miel
g. Handumanan by Jose balcena
h. Philippine Folk Dance and Song by the Bureau of Public Schools 1965
2. The dance selected must be only one straight dance, No combination of dances is allowed.
3. In dances where the author does not specify or describe the entrance and/or exit, the
trainer may arrange one; however; it must not be longer than dance itself and should not
exceed one minute.
4. The dance accompaniment is not allowed.
5. Dancers should be composed of a minimum of (3) pairs and a maximum of (6) pairs.
6. Two photocopy of the literature of the dance shall be submitted to the organizer and the
one in-charge to the contest.
7. The decision of the judge is final.

Pagsulat ng Sanaysay

Mechanics and Rules of the Contest:

1. Ang lupon ng inampalan and inatasan na magbibigay ng paksa ng kompetisyon.


2. Ang dami ng salita ay hindi hihigit sa 1,500 at hindi naman kukulangin sa 1,000. May
karampatang bawas ng (5) puntos.
Ang kalahok ay bibigyan lamang ng 2 oras sa pagbuo ng diwa o komposisyon.
3. Ang mga kalahok ang magdadala ng kanya-kanyang gamit para sa pagsusulat.
4. Ang pagdadala ng anumang aklat, talatinigan at iba pang bagay na maaaring
pagkunan ng ideya sa loob ng pagdarausan ng timpalak ay hindi pinahihintulutan o
pahihinulutan.
5. Ang mga taong walang kaugnayan sa paligsahan ay hindi pahihintulutang pumasok
sa bulwagan o silid ng pagdarausan ng paligsahan. Ang mga miyembro ng komite at
mga kalahok lamang ang may karapatang pumasok.
6. Ang resulta ng paligsahan ay ilalagay sa “tally board” pagkatapos mapilian ng lupon
ng inampalan.
7. Ang hatol ng lupon ng inampalan ay pinal.

1. Ang paksa ng talumpati ay ibibigay ng lupon ng inampalan sa araw ng paligsahan.


2. Ang kalahok ay bibigyan ng 2 minutong paghahanda at 3 minutong paglalahad. limang
puntos ang ibabawas sa isang minutong kulang at sobra sa paglalahad.
3. Ang paglalahad ay maaring sa paraan ng pakikipagusap o patalumpati.
4. Hindi maaring gumamit ng sound effects, mikropono, background o props.
5. Ipinagbabawal sa mga kalahok ang pagsusuot ng uniporme ng kolehiyo o unibersidad.

Essay Writing

Mechanics and Rules of the Contest:

1. The board of judges will provide the topics of the essay at the venue of
comprehension.
2. The essay shall be written in English in not less than 600 words but not more than
800 words.
Corresponding deduction will be given to entries that did not reach the minimum
number of words and exceed to the maximum number of words.
Deduction of 5 points will be impose.
3. The contestant shall be given (1) hour to develop composition.
4. The contestant shall be provided with writing paper, a pen and their corresponding
number.
5. The contestant will use their real name on their paper for the verification of the
winners later.
6. No books materials, dictionaries, and the like shall be brought inside the contest
venue.
7. No person shall be allowed inside the contest venue except the contestants and the
proctors.
8. The result of the contest will be posted on the tally board immediately after the
judges have finish rating them.
9. The judges’ decision is final.

1. The topic shall be given on the spot by the judges.


2. The contestant shall be given 2 minutes to prepare and 3 minutes to deliver.
3. The style of the delivery shall be conversational, oratorical, or combination of both.
4. The contestant should not wear his/her team color uniform.
5. Use of sound effects, microphones, and props are disallowed.
6. The judges’ decision is final.

Story Telling

1. The contestant will provide his own contest piece.


2. The story should be appropriate to the theme of the event. Time limit shall
correspond to the piece.
3. Appropriate attire with moral and ethical standards is required.
4. No sound effects, background or props, are allowed to support the story.
5. The story must delivered from the memory and movement is confined to either
sitting or standing throughout the delivery.
6. Judges decision is final.

Instrumental Solo

Mechanics and Rules of the Contest.

1. The music piece shall be any of the following:

2. The contestant shall play the instrument without any back-up, accompaniment or
background music. No electronic device/pitch up.
3. The contestant shall bring his/her own instrument (any instruments are allowed).
4. Performance shall be 3-5 minutes.

2. Live accompaniment is required. Multiplex is dis allowed.
3. Delivery is 3-5 minutes.

4. Singing shall be accompanied by a minus one tape or CD. Multiplex shall not be
allowed. Cd’s must be tried out prior to the contestant and a back-up copy should
be available.
5. Delivery is for 3-5 minutes.
6. Judges’ decision is final.

2. The voice composition shall be SOPRANO, ALTO, TENOR, and BASS (SATB).
3. The member shall be minimum of 10 members and a maximum of 16 members.

Quiz Bowl

Mechanics and Rules of the Contest:

(Philippine Government, History, Geography and Culture)

1. Question shall be prepared solely by the SBO-ADVICER.


2. Contestant will answer the same set of questions in writing. Before a
question is read, the contestant must raise their right hand. Each team will
be provided with an illustration board, chalk and eraser.
3. The question will be read twice by the quizmaster. After the second reading,
the quizmaster shall say “go”- only the team be allowed to write their
answer. Automatically, the ten-second time limit will begin with the word
“go” by the quizmaster. If a question requires enumeration, the time limit
will be extended to five more seconds.
4. After the time limit, a buzzer will sound; the team should stop writing and
raise their right hand.
5. The proctors will go around and check the answers of the teams. There will
be two (2) proctors.
6. The contest has two rounds, level I and level II, in first level will be asked

Pop Solo

Laro ng Lahi

SIATONG

Description: The game siatong is where they use the short and a long stick of wood, usually taken from
the young branches of a tree. The game uses a small dug hole where the short wood is horizontally
situated on top of it with a long wood used to lift the short one with force to throw it to the farthest
distance possible.

Mechanics:

 Stick game, better be good at it - Two players, one flat stick (usually 3')
and one short flat piece of wood (4" usually a piece cut from the flat
stick).
 Player A hitter and Player B as the catcher. Played outside on the ground
where you dig a small square hole (slanted) where you put the small wood
so it sticks out.

 Player A hits the wood with the stick so it catches air enough to be hit by
the stick.

 The further the wood gets hit the more points you get (usually counted by
the number of stick length

 Player B on the other hand has to anticipate and catch the small piece of
wood to nullify the points and become his turn OR looks forward to
Player A to miss hitting the wood.

TUG OF WAR

Description: Tug of war is a sport that pits two teams against each other in a test of strength: teams pull
on opposite ends of a rope, with the goal being to bring the rope a certain distance in one direction
against the force of the opposing team’s pull.

Mechanics:

 Two teams are needed, each team composed of ten (10) players.
 The players begin tugging the rope when the referee gives the signal.
 Each team pulls backwards as hard as they can. The teams continue pulling until the center of
the rope (tape mark) crosses where the referee is standing.
 The game ends when the referee declares one team has successfully pulled the rope past the
center.

SACK RACE

Description: The teams race each other using a sack around the designated area. All members of the
team must finish the track. Each team must have 10 members.

Mechanics:

 Each person puts both feet in the sack and must always keep at least one hand on the sack.
 On the mark, participants begin hopping towards a marked point and back, tagging the next
person in their team.
 Then, the next person gets into the sack and repeats the course.
 The first team to complete the course wins.

TOUCHING BODY

Description: Each teams will be contending with each other. The teams will be divided into 2 sets, the
“Taya” and the “defender”, the Taya will be the ones to dodge the ball that is going to be hurled by
them by the Defenders. The goal is to minimize the members of each team.
Mechanics:

 The game will start with a toss coin.


 On the mark, participants should be on their respective places and they may start throwing the
ball into the opposing team.
 If a player is touched by the ball then that player is considered out of the game.
 On the opposing team, they can have a life if they caught the ball within their hand but if they
can’t catch it they will be considered out.
 If there’s only one remaining in the Taya’s team, then this is the Parent of the game. If each
throws does not touch the Parent, it is considered a life. Depending on the members of the
team and the number of dodges the Parent the whole team can be revived.
 The goal of the game is to lessen the opponents in each team and the winner will be the one
who’ll have the highest point.

LAWIN SISIW

Description: Lawin-Sisiw is a game that starts by selecting one leader (Lawin) and the rest of the players
will be the sisiw. The lawin will lead the game while the sisiw holds the waist of the ones in front making
sure they would not lose grip of each other specially the last sisiw. The lawin will protect the group
specially the last sisiw, making sure that the other groups will not have the handkerchief.

Mechanics:

 Each team will consist of 15 members in able to play the game.


 Each team will assign one leader (lawin) and the rest as sisiw.
 The team must not lose grip of each other, failure to do so, the group will be disqualified.
 A handkerchief will be placed at the end sisiw.
 The goal is to get the handkerchief.
 The lay of the game is last-man-standing.

PICK-A-FLAG

Description: Pick-a-flag is a skill development game in which players should have a connection to their
teammates. Teams shall have 5 members, 2 will be the picker and 3 will be the pilot get in the playing
area. This game will test the leadership of all teams cause the picker shall be blindfolded.

Mechanics:

 All teams will go to the area of the game, and they will see a huge circle there.
 Each team will assign two flag (2) picker and three (3) pilots.
 Flaglets placed inside the circle , 12 flaglets each team and has 8 white flag (bonus flag) inside
the circle a total of 80 flaglets inside the game area.
 The flag pickers will go inside and pilots remain outside.
 The kay of the game is last-man-standing.

HARINA GAME

Description: Harina game is a game In which each team has 6 participants. The participants will be
scooping the flour until the glass is filled. Scooping will be done by the person in front of the line, and
the person at the back would be in charge of filling the glass with flour. Their ability to develop effective
strategies will be put to the test in the game.

Mechanics:

 Players will be dealt their respective cards.


 Players line up and place the card in their mouths
 The game will start as the timer started.
 Scooping will be done by the person in front of the line, and the person at the back would be in
charge of filling the glass with flour.
 The winner of the game will be determined by having the most flour in the glass after 3 minutes.
