ORATORICAL SPEECH CONTEST

Guidelines:

1. The contest is open to all Grade 11 students of Bais City National High School.
2. Each section should only have 1 representative for each.

Mechanics:

1. The contestants shall have a uniform piece entitled “I WILL PERSIST UNTIL I SUCCEED”.
2. The piece shall be delivered within 5-6mins. Every excess of 390 seconds shall be one point
deduction.
3. Attire should be appropriate to the piece.
4. Coaches should provide 3 copies of the piece to the board of judges.
5. Ranking system shall be used in determining the winners.
6. Award is given to the first 3 best orators.
7. The decision of the board of judges is final.

Criteria:

40% - Delivery (Enunciation, Diction, Phrasing, Voice Projection)

30% - Character Portrayal (Expressions, Gestures, Attire)

20% - Mastery (Memorization of the Piece)

10% - Stage Presence & Impact

DECLAMATION SPEECH CONTEST

2. The piece shall be delivered within 5-6mins. Every excess of 30 seconds shall be one point
deduction.
3. Attire should be appropriate to the piece.
4. Coaches should provide 3 copies of the piece to the board of judges.
5. Ranking system shall be used in determining the winners.
6. Award is given to the first 3 best declamers.
7. The decision of the board of judges is final.
