Do everyone in the world trust pharma companies to give the patients the cures for their

diseases? , or Is it just follow the usual companies’ procedures which is earning more profits

form the public ?. The distrust began with the release of the book titled’’ Natural cures ‘they’’

Don’t Want to know about ''in 2005 by the American author Kevin Trudeau. According to the

book, the Food and drug administration(FDA) deliberately hid all the natural cures for serious

diseases(cancer, hepatitis) from the public to maintain the profits done by the big pharma

companies. Some people believed this claim while others refuted it. The followers still support

this claim through evidence and strong inferences.

The proponents believe that this conspiracy theory is correct because of several evidences.

They suspect that the pharma companies are following the usual procedures of any company:

They think that the pharma companies want to earn profits more than finding a cure for the

cancer patients. Their suspicion increased after MNT in 2014 reported on study published in

the Journal of the National Cancer Institute suggesting that daily aspirin may reduce the risk of

the ovarian cancer by 20 % .Even more, they began to express doubt after 2015-strudy drew a

relation between long-term use of low-dose aspirin to reduced risk of colorectal cancer. This

might imply to the followers that the pharmaceutical companies are trying to get profits and

don’t want to put cheap alternatives to cure cancer.

However, detractors agree to some extent with the proponents, but they have some

reservations .First the pharmaceutical companies do care about the profits not to earn them but

to sustain their companies. In business world, when people decide to make a company, they need

investors to do so .The same goes for the clinical trials that the company invest on to earn the

profits behind the drug or treatment. If the drug didn’t earn them profits ,then they would lose the

company, and they wouldn’t survive the business competitions .This might lead to devastation of
the company and their useful products .Secondly, there are 200 types of cancer ,and this aspirin

could solve nearly one of them, and reduce the risk of some of them ,but the remaining types of

cancer might be very harmful and have no cure in reality. Moreover, there are some people are at

higher risk for the side effects from aspirin: pregnant women and people who have high blood

pressure, asthma, liver or kidney problems, a blood disorder or allergies to any other

medications. Thirdly, aspirin should be taken after the consultation with a doctor. Because it is a

drug, it might have some unpredictable and unseen side effects. However, there are some known

shortcomings of the aspirin uptake: it increase risk for gastrointestinal bleeding, Reye's syndrome

- a rare disorder characterized by swelling in the brain and liver, most common among children

and teenagers-and age-related muscular degeneration. Therefore, the pharmaceutical companies

are trying to search for other alternatives that might cure cancer, but at the same time earn them

enough profits to sustain the harsh business environment.
