 ROAD SAFETY POLICY – DO(S)
RULES: DO (S)

1. Driver shall carry their valid Driving License & other necessary documents like gate pass, Vehicle
Registration certificate (RC), fitness certificate & Pollution under control certificate (PUC) all the
time. Entry would not be allowed inside the factory premises in absence of the required documents.
2. Follow Traffic rules, signage, light indicator & hand signals.
3. Keep the brakes, horns, windscreen wipers, headlights, backlight, indicators & dipper lights of the
vehicle in working condition
4. Use Retro-reflective tapes on the vehicles for better visibility i.e. on front – white colour, both sides
– yellow & rear – red colour 50 mm wide RTO approved tapes.
5. Use of ISI marked crash helmet, with chin strap while driving a two wheeler, for both rider and
pillion passenger
6. Park the vehicle in designated parking Zone
7. Wearing seat belt is mandatory for Driver & all Co- passengers in the passenger vehicle (Except
buses operated inside Vedanta plant area).

10. Stop and give way to pedestrian at zebra crossings

11. Pedestrian to walk on the dedicated pedestrian walkway wherever present and not on road

13. Wheel chokes /stopper is compulsory for commercial vehicle in parking

14. Vedanta provided (including hire car) passenger vehicle must fitted with seat belts factory

fitted.

RULES: Don’t(s)

1. No minor (age less than 18 years ) shall be allowed as driver or helper

2. Learner license driver not allowed inside plant premises.
3. Driving under the influence of alcohol or illicit drug.
4. Use of Mobile phone while driving
5. Exceeding the speed limit of 20 Kmph in plant premises, BOP, and township. Walking
speed is only allowed for vehicle operating inside the operational area
6. Seating, resting below the vehicle in parking area
7. Playing loud music while driving
8. Leaving the engine running when parked
9. Overtaking from Left side of vehicle and on road marked with double white lines
10. Parking in no parking Zone

11. Improper use of Horn

PENEALTY:-

• For violation of any traffic rules, following penalties will be imposed.

Driving under the influence of alcohol or illicit Rs 1000 & detention of vehicle & driver.

➢ Requested to follow the guided path & do not enter in to restricted areas

➢ PPEs shall be provided to you. It’s mandatory to use for your safety.

➢ Safety Shoes (close Shoes is minimum in offices), Safety Helmet, Safety Goggles, Full Sleeve

cotton dress & Dust Mask are basic minimum safety requirement for all areas of the plant

Magnetic Field :

▪ Analog watches

▪ Mobiles

▪ Magnetic cards (e.g. ATM Card / Credit cards)

▪ Persons having pace makers are not allowed

➢ Noise - Use ear plugs in noisy areas like turbine floor,

compressor area etc.

LPG Storage Area

➢ Unauthorized Photography, Consumption of alcohol ,Smoking, Spitting,

inside the plant premises

➢ Knife, Cigarette, Lighter, Matchbox & Camera are prohibited inside the

plant premises
