REYES, Aiah Kristine
A hypothetical polygeneration plant producing heat, power, cooling and purified water is compose of the following unit
process: boiler, combined heat and power (CHP) unit, chiller and reverse osmosis (RO) unit. The process data for the
baseline case are given in Table 1. The negative and positive values in each row represent an input or output stream into
the different processes.

SUMMARY OF INFORMATION
Capacity Boiler CHP unit Chiller RO Unit
Bottleneck (Y/N) N N N Y
The final demand for the output streams is expected to increase by 20%
for heat, 28% for power, 5% for cooling and 15% for treated water.
Determine where the bottlenecks in the process will be given the installed
plant capacity safety margins were 20% for boiler, 25% for the CHP, 10%
for the chiller and 15% for the RO unit.
