Basant Panchmi Celebration, 2020

On the auspicious day of Basant Panchami which marks the end of winter and the beginning of
spring, the School of Languages, Literature and Society (Department of English) organised
Basant Panchmi celebration.

The students of B.A (Hons), M.A (English) along with all the faculty members, celebrated this
day in the front lawns of JNU, Main Campus. The highlights of the celebration are as follows:

 The celebrations started with the Saraswati Vandana followed by the prayer recitation by
offering flowers to the goddess Saraswati.
 A speech was given by Tulsi Mathur of B.A II Sem.
 A beautiful dance performance was given by Anushka Gurjar of B.A II Sem.
 The celebration concluded with the enlightened words of Prof. H.N Verma, Vice
Chancellor, followed by short speeches from Prof. K.K Gautam, Director, School of
Languages, Literature and Society and Head of Department Dr. Rana Zaidi.
