Sending The Children to The Pre-School, Why Not?

Childhood is a golden period in one’s life as it deals with complete enjoyment. It is called
golden period because in this phase the children have many curiosities about their surroundings.
Therefore, they will ask many questions to adults around them and those answers make them learn
something new. Beside that, children in general live with their family consists of adults only so they
may have no friends of the same age. This condition makes the children always get everything they
want because the adults must be giving them so that they will not cry. They do not need some efforts
such as trying to negotiate with their friends or making achievements to get something they want. Pre-
school is one of many solutions that can the parents choose for overcoming these problems. There are
some reasons why sending children to the pre-school is important such as for making to know how to
socialize and preparing them to be ready in the next education level.
First, in pre-school, the children will meet their friends of the same age and learn how to
socialize in their new circle. Their new friends may have different characters, family backgrounds,
cultures, maybe languages, and interests. When they first meet their new friends, some of them will
cry, feel shy, or want to know about their friends and introduce themselves. As time goes by they will
get to know each other and play together. Other than that, there will be many conflicts between them
such as scrambling the toys, teasing each other, or making their friends cry. From these conditions
they will learn how to resolve the conflicts, forgive each other, and respect to their friends.
Second, the children’s activities will stimulate their brain so they become more ready to go to
next education level. The teachers in the pre-school will give many learning methods that suitable for
children. Usually they make ‘learning by playing’ method which can make the children feel fun and
enjoy the learning process. By using this method, the teachers and their parents hope it can stimulate
their sensoric and motoric skills also verbal and non-verbal skills. These skills will help the children
when they go to next education level such as kindergarten and elementary school, or even just when
they meet a new circle and interact with their neighbors.
When the children grow up, maybe they will burn out to go to school in the future because
they feel that they start to go to school too early. Some parents are also agreed because it means their
children will not have good academic achievement in high school and college. The parents think that
the children study everyday, learn about numbers and pictures, and read a lot of books. It will bring

study everyday, learn about numbers and pictures, and read a lot of books. It will bring them to the
burning out situation in the future. However, pre-school will not make children’s performance bad in
the future if parents sending them to specific pre-school that appropriate with the children’s interest
such as pre-school with music, dancing, or gymnastic class.
I believe that every parents do not want their children to have a bad performance when they
grow up, but sending them to the suitable pre-school will make them learn how to interact with others
and they will have soft skills also hard skills for their next level in kindergarten and elementary
school. With considering those reasons, sending the children to the pre-school is a good solution for
parents that want their children be more ready to face new circle, make academic achievements, and
also have a good problem solving skill.
