INTRODUCTION
arena between two different perspectives - the teachers' and the students'. As a
subject that focuses on skills in specific areas, this will make an impact in their
lives in a way that the skills that they learn at school can be used as a tool
for a better future. TLE can be considered functional if the students can
incorporate their skills into improving their performance that can be helpful for a
lifelong learning. The world today is gradually changing aiming for improvement,
school isn’t just about concepts but skills developed and put in to action.
This study is pursued to dive deeper into the impact of teaching and learning
TLE to both teachers and students of Tapilon National High School of teaching
and learning TLE subjects. Focusing on the teacher; their philosophy, methods and
strategies use throughout the years of teaching the subject, if they find the TLE
the utilization of skills coming from the students. On other, this answers as to
how the TLE impacted the students to furnish skills needed, be motivated to
perform skills oriented task and if they found the subject challenging or
rewarding.
The study finds importance in the field of TLE teaching and learning for
various reasons. Knowing how the TLE is; in the perspective of the teachers
and the students, this will form a conducive environment for teaching and
learning. It enables both the teachers and the students to grow and develop,
finding a more organized and effective way to teach that makes the students
feel motivated and determined as they tackle a new topic and furnish a skill.
Their lived experiences with the subject TLE will eventually enhance efficiency in
skills oriented tasks as a subject that deals with the strengthening of skills and
innate talent and as added by Freire and Macedo (1987) and Macedo (2006)
nature and nurture of the past experiences. It is also conditioned by the type of
quality of the experiences. Teachers play a dominant role in the subject as the
dispenser of knowledge and skills, but the phase of the teacher's life particularly
those who are teaching TLE, is often taken for granted. There are also students
that treat TLE as a subject that is needed for the completion of their subject
only without realizing the nature of the subject and how it can affect their lives
