Stage 3: Learning Experience
Prior to Grab equipment and set Resources Foam Balls Lesson: up to Bring: Hula Hoops- 8-10 whistle Time: Content/Description Notes/Assessments: Introduction: 2 mins Ask students to sit on in the center circle and ensure they are listening before beginning Introduce yourself Body: SAVE THE STATUES: Explain the rules: Place hula loops outside court lines, 10 hula hoops PE: Grade 4 Save the Statue Fri. March 6th Lesson 2x’s: 10:15-10:45 + 10:45-11:15 Room: Gym Put players in each hula hoop, those will be the statues There will be a player or two on that team starting in the center circle All the balls will be in the center circle: the students will try and pass those balls to the students in the circles, and the statue catches it they can join in the center The other team will be spread out in the middle area of defenders trying to block the statues from catching balls If the throw is blocked, the players can leave the middle circle to retrieve the ball but they have to bring it back to the middle Switch teams when all the statues have made it in the middle or after a certain amount of time Statues can’t grab balls and throw them back TRANSITION: Divide teams: numbering or teacher? Separate team one in hula hoops: 2 or 3 in each, and 2 in the middle The other team spreads out in the other areas Start game Closure: Ask students to put balls in bin and line up at the door
