Chapter I

Introduction

Imagine a world without the expression of ideas, feelings and

even the thoughts of individuals, this clearly shows that there will be

no peace nor understanding can be done, no man can live with himself

alone. Communication has an important part in our daily lives, it is the

process where people share or express their thoughts and ideas to

others or even to their own selves. It is something significant to

everyone to avoid conflicts, such as war and fights. It is clear that

communication helps people to reach out and interact.

Communication in the present dispensation is now dynamic because

of the occurring and increasing of technologies. With the power of

media, it leads to a world wide range of interaction and it builds the

globalization.

In local perspective, Filipinos are fond of non–verbal

communication. They use hand gestures, raise of eyebrows and their

eyes to communicate. They are less dependent on spoken words even

their smile has various meanings--- it is not always meant to convey

happiness but can masked embarrassment, nervousness or feelings of

insecurities but Filipino are known to be the one of the happiest

people in the world. Global communication is an interdisciplinary field

focusing on ways of how people connect, share, relate and mobilize

across geographic, economic, social and cultural divisions. It is the

transfer of knowledge and ideas including the imposition of a new

intercultural hegemony by means of global views. Technically,

communication is a process where sender encode a message to

decode by a receiver through channel, it create chances to provide

feedback in the presence of noise and within the context. Other than

these, communication is very important.

Objectives of the Activity

This study aims to help the learners in identifying the

effectiveness of communication with the context of media, internet

and globalization in today's era. This includes the use of World

English’s, its effect to the essence of communication and as a barrier,

but overall, this aims to broaden the knowledge of students or to

others the importance of communication in the present generation.

 Benefits

This model will benefit the students specially those who are

enrolled in Interactive English (IE 101) subject to cope up with their

knowledge on how communication works. This will serve as a guide or

source of information excluding the old models tackled for the past

generations. This can give people an opportunity to understand more

the process happening in the today’s era when it comes to

communication, specially the used of media, internet and globalization

itself.

 Procedure

Prepare all the materials needed such as glue stick, paper tube,

LED bulb, wires, ruler, spray paint, cutter, pencil, glue gun, recycled

plywood and Popsicle sticks. First, is to make your base, paint the

plywood with black and wait until it dries. For a while cut the paper

tubes into half, because it will serves as a pathway of the ball. Use the

glue sticks to connect all the cut tubes to make a sliding pattern.

Afterward, assemble all the wirings to connect all the LED bulbs

depending on the design acquired to light the bulb, this serves as

notification whenever the ball move its way. A battery would be

enough to light all the bulbs. After that, use the recycled Popsicle

sticks as your miniature houses and buildings, it can also be used as

signs and symbols attach in the model. Make sure that the sliding

tubes can stand strong as it is based with sticks in the plywood. After

giving the lights and colors, make sure the ball that will be using will

be designed or painted as globe. This helps you to understand all your

concepts attach in the model.

 Chapter III

The Components of the Model

The ball signifies the world, globalization, and the message, this

emphasize that communication is now wide and dynamic, that it

includes the whole world interaction. The tubes reflect as the channel

or medium of the message continuously representing infinity. The

lights visualize the notification or information being received. The

sign board implies the reactions or feedbacks about the information or

message. The buildings and houses serves as the civilization brought

by the communication. And lastly, the toys serve as the people or the

receivers of the message.

 Reflection Paper

As a reflection of this activity it uses human reason to

explain and show communication through idealistic model. It is

infinite in its search for answer to question about the process

and of communication beyond the world. As students of

Interactive English 101 subject, agree that studying under this

program is limitless to its field and unlimited to its scope, since

it is continuous process of searching a certainty and truth. The

study enlightens our ability to know and understand the

authenticity, and provides benefits to individual. It helps learner

to be a critical thinker and to possess a different levels of

mentality to prevent one`s from ignorance.

Communication as an inquiry deals with analyzing

frameworks and reasons to apply holistic perspective of

knowing and understanding the veracity. It studies a broad

concept of inquiry that requires individual to have an open

mindset to learn things and the ability to know the process

which helps humanity to achieve the cosmos, an orderly whole.

Moreover, as a future molders it is boundless in its searched for

answer to questions and deals with ultimate reasons,

observations, and experiences with the use of communication

alone. It provides an explanation of being to have a deeper and

more complete understanding of exchanging ideas.

This process uses human reason alone to deal with the

realism and of the world. It helps learner to develop their logic

skills, wherein we can make a better judgments and correct use

of reasoning. It provides systematic explanation and answer the

reality with the use of rational thinking to discover the

processes in a better way.

Interactive English studies different major area to further

understand the different aspects of entity and of the

communication. It helps us students to classify and understand

the communication process for us to examine and analyze the

process to prevent confusion and come up with clear and

organized inquiry. It provides systematic and organized data of

being good communicator in the future and to show the genuine

knowledge, the meaning of communication, the correct step by

step procedure to show valid inference and demonstration to

answer the question to achieved self- fulfillment, independence,

and creativeness. It can achieve through making up our own

mind to think, evaluate and decide for our own model to show

how we really know communication process. This only proves

that we summed up with our LAPSUS QUADRANTUM MODEL.

Therefore, this activity is a big advantage because it is a

continuous process of learning and striving for knowledge to

know the authenticity and of course the process of

communication itself, the study helps students to learn and gain

new knowledge that explains for ultimate realization through

the use of human reason to develop their logic skills and critical

thinking not because of it is based but because it is discovered.

It is broad concept of study, wherein shows communication

process to prevent confusion and focus on their learning field.
