Agenda:
Day 1:
Use your character design from last week to create 1 page in a comic book that tells a story about your
character. The scene that you choose could be from any point in your character’s story.
I could be them saving someone, joking with someone, cooking something, fixing something, anything that you
want that shows the viewer what your character is like.

Read over tips to creating a good comic:

Whether you’re trying to come up with an idea for a comic strip or comic book, use the below
tips to inspire you.

1. Think of a short story idea that would work well visually. You want large, easy-to-define
moments and larger-than-life characters and a lot of dialogue. If you are already working
on a novel, try adapting your characters and setting to comic form as a creativity
exercise.

2. Next, work out the rough structure of your comic book. Think about the grand opening,
the big plot points, the climax, and the resolution.

3. Write brief personality profiles of your main characters. Who are they? What do they
want? What are their strengths and weaknesses? Where do they start out, and where do
they end up at the end of your story? What central conflict do they all face, and
overcome?

4. Think of extraordinary settings and strong, powerful emotions like love, death, anger,
good, evil. How are these represented in your comic book?

Today, think of a story that you could tell about your character in a comic and write down some
notes. Pick out a template that you could use to tell your story.
Day 2:
Once you have a template picked out, and an outline for your story, begin to draw the parts of your story.
Outline the major parts if your drawing and begin to put in text bubbles for your character.

Day 3/4:
Begin adding all the details to your comic. Make sure that the viewer can tell what is going on from your
drawing and the text.
Post a progress photo for day 3
Post your final comic strip photo for day 4.
