7:30 am – 8:00 am
Arrival
Children arrive at the classroom
and are greeted. They may
participate in table activities of
their choice at this time.

8:00 am – 8:20 am
AM Circle Time
Calendar time, sing songs, dance,
talk about what the children did
the night before, talk about the
day, etc. Circle time is made to be
fun and meaningful!

8:20 am – 8:30 am
Bathroom Break
The class will travel to the
bathrooms together. Children will
take turns going to the bathroom
and washing hands. When they are
done at the bathrooms, they will
come back to the classroom to
get ready for breakfast.

8:30 am – 9:00 am
Breakfast
Children will sit at the table to
eat breakfast. Breakfast is listed
on the center’s menu that can be
found within the classroom.

9:00 am – 10:00 am
Small Group Play /
Centers
Students are able to choose
which centers they would like to
explore and learn at. Each center
provides a building upon a skillset
or opportunity to learn something
new in a different or unique way.

10:00 am – 10:15 am
Bathroom Break /
Recess Prep Time
The class will take a bathroom
break before getting ready to go
outdoors for recess.

10:15 am – 11:15 am
Recess
The class will spend this time
outdoors to play as they choose.
If it’s too cold to go outside, they
will play indoors and do an activity
that allows the students to use
gross motor skills.

11:15 am – 11:30 am
Bathroom Break /
Class Prep Time
The class will come in from
recess. They will spend time
taking off their outdoor clothing
and putting it on their hooks or
within their backpacks, then
taking a bathroom break before
returning to class.

11:30 am – 12:00 pm
Lunch
Children will sit at the table to
eat lunch. Lunch is listed on the

center’s menu that can be found


within the classroom.

12:00 pm – 12:10 pm
Bathroom Break
The class will travel to the
bathrooms together. Children will
take turns going to the bathroom
and washing hands. When they are
done at the bathrooms, they will
come back to the classroom to
get ready for resting time.

12:10 pm – 2:00 pm
Resting Time
Children will get some time to
rest. This is a quiet time, so it’s
not unusual for a majority of the
children to sleep during this time.
Students who do not read will be
provided with quiet toys or books
to look through.

2:00 pm – 2:20 pm
Transition Time

The children will wake up on their


own during this time. As they
wake up, they’ll put away their
“rest time materials,” whether
these be nap mats, quiet toys, or
books. They will then come and
participate in a quiet table
activity as the rest of their
classmates wake up.

2:20 pm – 2:30 pm
Bathroom Break
The class will travel to the
bathrooms together. Children will
take turns going to the bathroom
and washing hands. When they are
done at the bathrooms, they will
come back to the classroom to
get ready for snack.

2:30 pm – 2:45 pm
Snack
Children will sit at the table to
eat snack. Snack is listed on the
center’s menu that can be found
within the classroom.

2:45 pm – 3:15 pm
Free Play Time
Children learn the best through
play, and this is an opportunity
for them to do so. They can play
with any toys in the room or
spend time exploring the dramatic
play center.

3:15 pm – 3:45 pm
Full Group Activity
The class will spend time together
working on an activity together,
whether this be reading a book,
doing process art, or another type
of activity, they are sure to have
fun together.

3:45 pm – 3:50 pm
Quick Dance Break:
“Get the Wiggles
Out”
We like to refer to this dance
break as a time for the children

to get their wiggles out. After a


long time of sitting, it’s good to
get the children up and moving!

3:50 pm – 4:00 pm
PM Circle Time &
Transition Time
We sit down once more as a class
and talk about our day and say our
goodbyes. Sometimes we may
even talk about what we will be
doing tomorrow. Then our staff
helps get the children ready to
either get picked up if they go
home after 4K or transition into
one of our after-care classrooms.
