Rules Scenario For Event Reason Derivation


What is it?
A new rules scenario for the purpose of Event Reason Derivation will be made
available for b1908. It will make the creation of business rules for this purpose
easier by restricting the selectable basic objects (to ‘Job information’ or
‘Compensation information’), the selectable action (to ‘set’) and the changeable
field (to ‘Event-Reason’) 

Why is it important?
Using rules scenarios limited to a specific purpose reduce complexity and
potential errors. It classifies and structures rules and facilitate their searchability
by reference. 6
Prerequisites
This feature is only relevant if customers use event reason derivation by rules

A maximum of 1000 child entities are displayed. If there are more than 1000 that
could be loaded, a message appears, telling you that only 1000 are being shown

Workflow created date is replaced by approval date in email notification


Before : If CC Role is set to External Email, and if email document template
contains “Created time” placeholder, the “Created time” in email always set to
the Date when approval happens
After: If CC Role is set to External Email, and if email document template contains
“Created time” placeholder, the “Created time” in email will be correctly set to
the workflow creation time.
Country Specific Compensation portlet fields are not shown in workflow
approval screen
Before : If customer configure country specific filed on compensation info
element, even user has permission, user cannot see these fields on workflow
detail page.
After: It has been corrected
4.EP Audit Report for Trend Information

EP Audit report for trend information

What is it?
You can now generate an Employee Profile Data Change report, to audit changes
to feedback data from Employee Profile, for all users. Each report can cover up to
a 7 day period of time.

Why is it important?
Previously, you could create a personal data change audit report but only for one
user at a time. This enhancement enables you to create a report for all users

Prerequisites
You must have the Change Audit / General Audit configuration turned on.

Symptom

Recruiting users with admin permissions can add, change, and remove custom assessment
vendors in the Admin Center. This helps the vendor to build out an assessment integration, and
you can then select the vendor for the assessment package when creating a job requisition.
Previously, they had to raise a customer support ticket.

Environment

SuccessFactors Recruiting Management (RCM) - Q1-2019

Resolution

In provisioning under Company Settings we need to enable the below switch-

Enable Assessment Integration (requires Candidate Workbench)

Permission needed to be able to add in in RBP permissions - 


 Manage Permission Role -> Permission -> Manage Recruiting  -> Manage Assessment
Vendor.

After the permission please try to do the following steps -


1. Launch Admin Center.
2. Enter Manage Assessment Vendors in the Search toolbar.
3. Select Import in the Import/Export Assessment Vendors page to add a new vendor.
4. Choose Submit.
SuccessFactors Document Generation
Amounts in Words

In Most of organizations and for legal requirements Official HR Documents Like HR Letter, Employment Contract and so on,
it is mandatory to have the agreed on Salary whether gross amount or broken down to Pay Components written in both
Number and Words.
For Example 1450 (Only One Thousand Four Hundreds Fifty)

This feature is not available out of the box in SuccessFactors Document Generation and you cannot find in Business Rule
Engine a function that converts Amounts from Numbers into Words.

Solution in brief

1. Creating a lookup table to map the number to equivalent words (Custom MDF Object). The MDF includes the
number and the equivalent text.
2. A business rule using (Lookup) function to return the wording of the number.

Solution Implementation Description

Before starting solution implementation you have to consider the following points

 Discuss with the Customer the number ranges of current salaries and the expected increases in the coming years
 This solution is not recommended if the Basic Salary or Gross Pay Components those will appear be displayed in
the documents contains fractions (Cents for USD) as it will hugely increase the number of records in the lookup
table
 The solution is built based on an assumption that there is a good knowledge of document generation function as it
will not get deeper in document generation steps

Step 1:

Create a custom MDF object (i.e. NumtoWords) as a lookup table contains the following fields

 Number (Type Should be “Decimal” similar to Amount field in Compensation or Pay Components field)
 Words or Text “String” (Can be repeated for multiple languages)
Step 2

Prepare a CSV file to fill the lookup table with the number and text (You can search for functions available on the internet to
assist you in preparing the file). then upload the file.
Step 3

Now it is time to write the rule to populate the Text or Words value of the Amount.You will need to create a rule for each
Number will appear as a text also you will need a separate rule for each language

Assuming you have already maintained the Placeholders of the Amount ([Amount]) and ([AmountinWords]) in Document
Generation Template. Also the fields are maintained in Configure Object definition – Document Mapping Rule Result

The rule simply lookup in the MDF object created in Step 1 getting the equivalent Text of the amount of i.e Basic Salary

After creating the rule you will assign the rule to the Placeholder ([AmountinWords]) in Document Generation – Manage

You are ready now to generate a document (HR with both Amount in Number and Amount in Words

Resolution

   There are some restrictions on deep links for Recruiting:

 Deep links are intended for internal users only. External candidates cannot use deep links.
 
 Deep links are focused on tabs but not on job requisitions. In other words it is not possible to
have a link that goes directly to a job requisition.

Use cases:

 If a customer wants to copy and paste a link to be embedded in an email.


 
 If a customer wants to have a direct link from the intranet.
 
 This solution is universal feature.

Symptom

Reproducing the Issue


Step1: Go to Admin Center => Configure Object definitions.
Step2: Click New => Object Definition => create a custom object with effective date = Basic.

Step3: Click on Save. An info message will be displayed: “This object is an role-based
permission secured object. To access this object, you need to grant the necessary rolebased
permissions.”

Step4: Click on OK. Custom Object is created with Secured = "Yes"

Cause

With Q2 2019, the default value for 'Secured' field is set to 'Yes' for all the custom objects.

Note: Secured is set to Yes for None, Basic, and Multiple Changes Per Day (MCPD) effective-
dated objects and not for FROM_PARENT effective-dated object. If you try to change the value
while creating or editing a custom object, a warning message is displayed asking you not to
change the default value.

As the new objects are RBP secured, you would also need to ensure that you grant necessary
Role-based Permissions before you could access such custom object from Manage Data page.
SAP recommends that all MDF objects should be created as RBP secured.

Resolution

If you want to make use of this object or want to create instances of this object, then you need to
provide necessary permissions explicitly to the role. Below are the steps you would need to
follow for that.

Step 1) Navigate to Admin center->Manage Permission Role.

Step 2) Click on Role you want to use for this user has acess to.

Step 3) Click on Permission => The Permission page is displayed.

Step 4) Go to section "Miscellaneous Permissions" => the object cust_test_RBP should be


displayed in the list of all the objects.

Step 5) Give access to Visibility and Actions. Click Done > Save Changes. =>The permission is
saved successfully.

Step 6) Navigate to Admin center =>Manage data.


Step 7) Search for cust_test_RBP under "Create new" => The object should be available as per
the permissions you defined in above step.

Step 8) Add data for cust_testcustRBP and save =>The data is saved successfully
