Determine five (5) solutions to manage hazardous waste.

Hazardous fine as something that can potentially threaten public health or the environment. Such
waste could be inflammable, reactive (can easily explode), corrosive (can easily eat through
metal) or toxic (poisonous to human and animals). In many countries, it is required by law to
involve the appropriate authority to supervise the disposal of such hazardous waste. There are
several methods of managing all the various types of waste. Some of these methods cause
additional harm to the environment, but not doing anything is not an option.,

Incinerator method is one of the solutions to manage hazardous waste. Incinerator is

technology that can destroy the hazardous waste by burning at high temperature. This technology
treatment not only can dispose the waste but at the same time can produce energy from the gas
release from the treatment. This process is more efficient compare to another method because its
less impact to environment compare to another method to disposed hazardous waste. This
method is suitable for the country that less landfill because its not needed much spaces to
developed incinerator technology. However, Incinerator treatment technology just be practice by
certain country because its very expensive compare to another treatment.

Recycling method is one of the solutions to manage hazardous waste. Recycling is the
method that can transform used material into new product. Hazardous waste such as battery and
circuit board can be recycling into a new product. This process has many advantages such as can
minimize harmful into environment compare to another method such as landfill. This is because
the product of hazardous waste not will be disposed but can transform into a new functional
product. Recycling method also can save energy. It takes more energy to produce items with raw
materials than from recycling used materials. This means we are more energy efficient and the
prices of products can come down

Hazardous waste landfill is another solution to manage hazardous waste. The meaning of
landfill method is by collect, transport and disposed the hazardous waste into certain place There
are many countries practice this method to disposed hazardous waste including our country
Malaysia. The waste also will be disposed at soil or planted into the soil and its can cause land
pollution at the area and nutrient in the soil will reduce by this method. This method is effective
compare to certain method. However, in negative side its expensive, contaminated to
environment and difficult to handle.
 Pyrolysis is another solution to manage hazardous waste.certain hazardous waste can be
compose by pyrolysis process which is burn in high temperature. Pyrolysis is thermochemical
treatment which is can apply into any carbon based product including hazardous waste.In This
process material is exposed in high temperature and oxygen will absence through chemical and
physical separation into different mole.This method is effective to manage hazardous
waste.however its very expensive to practice by certain country.

Underground Disposal is another method for manage hazardous waste. This steps is not
recommended solution to disposed waste solution because its will cause land pollution including
contamination of groundwater because of chemical reaction by product such as batteries, aerosol
and other material. This process need good handling and its can effect on healthy life. All the
the methods of waste disposal above are the better options to get rid of the waste safely.

In conclusion, There are many option to manage hazardous waste including recycling,
incineration, pyrolysis and underground disposal. Each of the solution has their own advantages
and disadvantages including for human life, environment and nature. Hazardous waste need to
proper handling because its can effect for environment and cause pollution.
