Hello math committee!

Kris and I would like to send an update out about an upcoming math event we would like to
host. I have attached the flyer that will be going home.

Event date: Feb 14th
Event time: 8:00-8:30

We would like each grade level math committee representative as well as any other
teammates that would like to join to be part of this morning, educating parents on concepts
taught throughout the next module and provide a "cheat sheet" of concept ideas for them to
take home. Jenny Johnson also has manipulative's for us to send home and demonstrate how
to play a math game at home or to use to help with homework. For example, third grade is
starting fractions. I would like to show them how to play "roll a fraction", and then they
have dice to take to reinforce that game at home.

Jenny has the following manipulative's on hand and your grade level can take
whatever fits best:  tangrams, dominoes, counters, number cubes, geometric shapes, clocks,
double dice, dot dice, coins, playing cards, and rulers. Grab them from her whenever suits
your schedule.

This event will take place in the cafeteria, each grade level will be at a different table, and
parents will be given a lite breakfast as they enter.

*Please email me your cheat sheet by Feb 10th, and I will have copies made
for the morning.

Let me know if you have any questions/ concerns about anything mentioned. We are hoping
that this is a casual but informative event, that gets out parents into the building and gives
them a better understanding of upcoming math curriculum.

Thank you in advance!!

Steph and Kris
