Overview
This professional learning experience provides Elementary teachers (grades K-5) an opportunity to learn about
and discuss current beliefs and grading practices. Consider - What are your beliefs about grading? Do you think
that you are providing the best possible feedback to students for helping them learn and grow? Join us for an
online book study with other colleagues to examine everything that you have ever believed about grading and to
discuss what is best for students. Beginning in July, each teacher will read the book Grading from the Inside Out
(book provided). During this 5-week book study (July/August) we will discuss, share and build understanding
around standards-based grading and current grading practices through weekly, online, Google Classroom
discussions. The online book study will culminate with one face-to-face session at CES on Wednesday, August 15
from 9am-12pm.
*Note: 4-hour face-to-face meeting + participation in all posts and feedback in google classroom are required to earn 1
CPD unit.
