Notice
What concepts have been emphasized in the task and the infographics? Give at least four.
1. Observe
2. Reflect
3. Act
4. Evaluate
Since the 3 models are all for action research, what are the common elements of the three?
The common elements of the three are observing, evaluating, modifying, reflecting and acting.

 If you choose to compare with Model B-Nelson, O. 2014, here are the components.
Title: Action Research in Teacher Education: Classroom Inquiry, Reflection, and Data-Driven
Decision Making
Author of the Action Research: Carrie Eunyoung Hong & Salika A. Lawrence
Key Components Entry from your Sample AR
OBSERVE The Problem
To address the problem in effective teaching through classroom inquiry,
reflection and data driven decision making.
REFLECT Reflection
I observed in this study that the author is proving that self-study is a very
effective way in helping teachers closely examine current practice and
spearhead changes as teacher leaders.
PLAN Plan of Action
This study uses qualitative in which they use to questionnaires, interviews from
teaching graduate school.
ACT Implementation
I am going to observe how the teachers deliver their lesson and how they
assume their roles as the guide of the class to see how effective they are as
teachers.

What have you understood about the concept of Action Research and how will these be utilized in your
practice?
The concept of Action Research is a means of achieving the goals and objectives that the teacher
would like to achieve in the classroom. As observe in FS 2, action research is very significant in teaching
profession, these studies provide outcomes that will help the teacher to address and fill the gaps in
teaching.
Reflect
As a future teacher, is conducting an Action Research worth doing?
YES!
Why?
Action Research aides a lot of development inside the classroom and to the teachers themselves.
These studies help teachers to diagnose problems in education and improve their teaching skills. It also
provides practitioners with new knowledge in understanding about how to improve educational practices
or how to resolve significant problems in the classroom and schools.
How can AR be useful for every classroom teacher?
AR helps the classroom teacher as this study helps them to analyze and observe the problems and
needs that are needed to address inside the classroom. Teachers may gain insights or knowledge to
improve their teaching

OBSERVE
Remembering my classroom observation in FS 1, I noticed that there are many questions that I raised
in my mind. These include:
a. Why some students are not listening to the teacher?
b. How can we get the students attention?
c. What can we do to instill the classroom discipline?
REFLECT
Thinking deeply about the problems, perhaps something must have been done to solve the problem or
answer the question like?
a. Praising activities should be done first.
b. Classroom should be designed and be more attractive to make the classroom more student – friendly.
c. Teacher should exert more effort in making visual aid more attractive; discussion also should be
entertaining
PLAN
Now that I am in FS 2, I plan to make a planning for my solution to problem c. (what can we do to instill
classroom discipline) because as a teacher, I already accepted the fact that inside the classroom I am their
parent/guardian, and I also believe that if I instilled discipline in the classroom that only means that I
already earned my students respect
ACT
My action will come later, given enough time in FS 2 or during my Teaching Internship.
Check for Mastery
Directions: Check from the choices, what answer/s responds to the questions correctly and put an X if
otherwise.
1. An action research requires a teacher to be:
/ observant of what is happening in the classroom.
/ asking oneself of how to improve teaching.
/ following the daily routine all the time.
/ finding ways on how children should learn better.
X blaming learners for their inability to learn.
2. There are many ways of doing action research which follow a cyclical process. The process includes.
/ Observe, Reflect, Plan, Act
X Observe, Plan, Act, Reflect
X Reflect, Act, Plan, Observe
X Plan, Observe, Act, Reflect
/ Modify, Observe, Plan, Reflect
3. As an action researcher, I will be developing my skill as a person who is
/ Systematic
/ Reflective
/ Rigorous
/ Futuristic
/ Situational
4. On which of the following would you choose to conduct an Action Research? Why?
/ Changes in the classroom practices. Why? As a teacher, it is very important that our students
must understand why it is important to improve classroom practices.
/ Effects of curriculum restructuring. Why? Because sometimes it gives confusion not just to the
teachers but also to the students. So, if there is a study that will show its effects then the authorities will
have some basis before they proceed to restructuring the curriculum.
X Understanding of self as a teacher. Why? Because we already know our roles as a teacher and I
believe that before we took this course, we already prepared ourselves to what should we expect as a
teacher.
/ Teaching a new process to the students. Why? Change is constant. As a teacher, we should guide
our students to learn new processes, some may think that this is very significant but we need to make
them understand that they need to adopt.
5. Which of the following relates closely to what action research is?
/ Used to address practical problems in the classroom
X Refers only to everyday life of the learners
/ Allows teacher to study their own classroom
/ Brings theories and practices together
