I. OJECTIVES:
1. Review the different kinds of notes and rest and its value
2. Respond to rhythmic patterns by clapping, tapping, stamping and playing
improvised musical instruments.
3. Obedience

A. Content Standards: demonstrates understanding of concepts pertaining to


rhythm and musical symbols

B. Performance Standards: creates rhythmic patterns in: 1. Simple time signature;


2 simple one measure ostinato pattern

C. Learning Competencies:
1. identifies different kinds of notes and rests MU4RH-Ia-1
2. organizes notes and rests according to simple meters (grouping notes
and rests into measures, given simple meters) MU4RH-Ib-2
3. states the meaning of the different rhythmic patterns MU4rh-Ic-3

IV. PROCEDURES:
A. Reviewing previous lesson or presenting the new lesson:
1. Singing of welcome song “Funga Alafia”.
2. Show musical score, ask the pupils what are the symbols that they’ve
seen in the score
B. Establishing a purpose for the lesson:
1. Review the different kind of notes and rest and its value.

C. Presenting examples/instances of the new lesson:


2. Focus first on whole notes/rests and half notes and rests.

3. Next give focus on quarter notes/rests and eighth notes and rests, this
time use localized syllabication in giving the value of notes and rests.
e.g. YE-MA for 2 eight notes and CAKE for 1 quarter note.

D. Discussing new concepts and practicing new skills #1:


1. Teach the song “Magandang Araw” using MuseScore Track 1 by phrasing
and rote method.

E. Discussing new concepts and practicing new skills #2:


1. Let the pupils analyze when the cursor of the software hits the notes and
rest. Ask them what happened when the cursor hit the notes/rests.
2. Teach the rhythmic pattern of “Magandang Araw” using MuseScore Track
2”, this time the transcribed software will accompany the pupils in doing
the rhythmic activity

3. Developing mastery (leads to Formative Assessment 3)


1. Group the class into 4.
2. Let the pupils present the song “Magandang Araw” by singing
accompanied by clapping and tapping the rhythmic pattern of the song.
3. Evaluate the performance using rubric.
