 INTRODUCTION

The technologies which allow us to share information, pictures and ideas among

others things are what we call social media. Whether social media is a boon or a bane

is a matter of debate. However, one thing is sure that social media has become an

integral part of the lives of people of all ages today. Therefore, it is important for

students to understand the advantages as well as disadvantages of social media in

order to make the right choice for themselves. The biggest revolution in the history of

communication is Social Media and this started a completely new era altogether.

Every platform that enables us to communicate and socialize locally and globally is a

Social media platform. Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram and WhatsApp are its

many avatars. We can get many advantages from social media.Social Media has

become the first and foremost medium for creating awareness among people for any

social cause. This is an excellent medium for networking. Social Media Websites has

the ability to reach a million of people across nations in an unimaginable time frame.

Social media is currently the most widely used strategies by many companies to

improve their business. According to our video topic we took two examples of social

media problems we facing nowadays such as Instagram scammers and Facebook fake

news. These are the topics we have been choose to elaborate about.
 INSTAGRAM

WHAT IS INSTAGRAM?

Instagram is a social media app that allows users to share photos and videos from

their lives, add captions, edit filters, tweak settings, engage with others, explore and

creep, and so, so much more you just have to know what you're doing. Instagram is a

photo sharing app which allows users to assign filters to photos and share them with

followers. Instagramers can sync their photo sharing to other social networks,

important thing is Instagram invented to share photos and memories and also videos

to all your friends and family. Its helps us to share our experience and explore new

things in a finger tips.The app allows users to upload photos and videos, which can be

edited with filters and organized with tags and location information. Posts can be

shared publicly or with approved followers. Users can browse other users' content by

tags and locations, and view trending content. Users can like photos and follow other

users to add their content to a feed. Like most other social networking sites, you must

be at least 13 years old to create an account on Instagram. While you may

occasionally encounter some inappropriate content on Instagram, it does have strict

rules banning nudity and other types of offensive posts.

ADVANTAGES OF INSTAGRAM

It increases the artistic ability by taking pictures at different scenarios. Because in

instagram we can upload whatever photos in any location so it helps others know

about a place. Communication will be improved because we can chat not only to our

friends and family moreover we can chat to strangers and there is high possibly of

getting new friends. Thus, Friend lists get increased. Professional network also

increases which is quiet helpful. Much great way to do or promote a business without

explaining to face to face session. We also can get a feedback or opinion about a

product by others experience. In a nutshell, we also can share information with

friends/family in original way. There a variety of good things we can get from

instagram.

DISADVANTAGES OF INSTAGRAM

Even though we manage to find many good things from instagram but there are some

disadvantages also we can find from it. Users using incorrectly would leave bad

impact on this feature. The new users will have a bad thought about instagram. Most

important thing is sharing private information which should not be done on internet.

Such as phone number, TAC code, email address and so on. Furthermore, spending

lot of time on it. Sometimes can interrupt your focus on your real life. Last but not

least, some use to spy on others even if they do not know them.
TOPIC SELECTED INSTAGRAM SCAMMERS

The topic we have selected is instagram scammers in instagram. Actually, these thing

is happening widely in instagram. We have to more careful and concern about this

issue. What is scam? Actually scam means to deceive and take money from someone

to get something, such as money by deceiving someone. If you see

something you think is a scam, you should avoid responding and report the situation

to Instagram. You have to make sure you watch out for stock photos or questionable

giveaways and never give out your personal information or address data.

As we acted in the video, we have tell that the scammer will ask your personal

information’s such as phone number, email address, TAC code, or your password.

From the video what we goanna tell you guys is please don’t share these important

things via instagram to avoid scammed. Most important thing is don’t share it to a

strangers because you guys don’t know what they goanna do with this information.

We can loss our money by neglect or sometimes this can be even worst that then we

expect. From this video, it is one of the scam type usually used by scammers. So

beware and don’t share personal information to strangers.

WHAT IS FACEBOOK?

Facebook is a website which allows users, who sign-up for free profiles, to connect

with friends, work colleagues or people they don't know, online. It allows users to

share pictures, music, videos, and articles, as well as their own thoughts and opinions

with however many people they like. The official stated purpose of Facebook is to

make the world more open and connected. Facebook's latest mission statement is that

people use Facebook to stay connected with friends and family, discover what's going

on in the world and share and express what matters to them.n addition to keeping up

with friends and family, Facebook is a great place to upload all of those family

photos. You can also browse through your feed to see interesting photos and videos

shared by friends and pages you've liked. Facebook pages and ads can be invaluable

marketing tools. Overall, Facebook as a website is a safe place. There is built-in

security that helps to protect you and your information. One primary level of security

that Facebook uses is called SSL (Secure Socket Layer). When you log in

to Facebook, you provide a password. Facebook was founded on February 4, 2004, by

Mark Zuckerberg, Eduardo Savarin, Dustin Muscovite and Chris Hughes in a Harvard

dorm room, Facebook has rapidly become one of the biggest social networking sites

in the world.
ADVANTAGES OF FACEBOOK

It helps to communicate and collaborate people across distance. It allow us to share

with other what you desire to share. Such as- ask public opinion, ask questions, etc.

You can share your pictures, videos and what you have been up to with your family

and friends. Anyone can take advantage of Facebook to maintain a good relationship

with others who identify with certain tastes or products. This is very important

because as a business, you can sell or promote a product and service to a highly

targeted audience, thus increasing the possibilities of making money on the internet.

DISADVANTAGES OF FACEBOOK

It is no surprise that Facebook is vulnerable to attacks, and several hackers actively

alter people's profile information, on daily basis. There are hundreds of examples of

this. Many Facebook and ex-Facebook users can tell you that they noticed change in

their profile information while they were not logged in. One of the biggest Facebook

disadvantages is that it addictive or can become addictive easily.  Once you get

connected with your Facebook friends you will realize how frequently you open

Facebook and also spend so much time in commenting, viewing other's pictures,

playing games or doing other stuff. Many people know drawbacks of Facebook but

can't stop using it. On Facebook your personal life updates come to the notice of all

your friends and others, and so your privacy is compromised.

TOPIC SELECTED FACEBOOK FAKE NEWS

Fake news is harmful to our community it makes the world less informed, and it

erodes trust. It's not a new phenomenon, and all of us tech companies, media

companies, newsrooms, and teachers have a responsibility to do our part in addressing

it. At facebook, we're working to fight the spread of fake news in three key areas such

as disrupting economic incentives because most fake news is financially motivated

building new products to curb the spread of fake news and helping people make more

informed decisions when they encounter fake news. We need to work across

industries to help solve this problem: technology companies, media companies,

educational organizations and our own community can come together to help curb the

spread of misinformation and false news. By focusing on the three key areas outlined

above, we hope we will make progress toward limiting the spread of fake news and

toward building a more informed community on facebook.

From the video we made we take an example of fake news such as nowadays viral

problem which is corona pandemic. As we can see there are a lot of fake news that

daily we can see at facebook. If we see it in official pages there will be no such news

and also on daily news. A lot of us will share these fake news without verify it and

some will directly believe on this fake news. Actually this habit is very dangerous and

can hide the true incident and issue. So as a responsible user of facebook we should

share a true and fact news instead of sharing fake news we also can teach and give

knowledge to others on fake news. If all of us concern on sharing information’s for

sure there will be no fake news.

 CONCLUSION

They are a lot of group of people are still thinking that social media is good or bad. In

case a lot of discussions are made to solve this problem. Actually in this fast growing

world it is necessary to have this kind of mediums to communicate to each other

because human nowadays very busy with their own stuff and neglect their neighbours

friends and family. This social media helps us to keep our bonding strong and keep

memories and also experience. But we all have to know that these things are should

be used wisely to our own good. The negative effects of social media outweigh the

positive. In conclusion, social media is, and will continue to be, harmful, unless

something is done about it. The power it has over people is dangerous and often goes

unnoticed. Social media stunts interpersonal growth and increases narcissism in many

internet users. So use it wisely and spread good things to people around you,
