HOME Homework: take or bring a picture of their favorite mural in their


neighborhood or across the city. Philly hearts the mural arts! And the
rich tradition of uplifting communities across the city. The homework
creates an authentic tie to their home community.

“...identity as “the embodiment of self-understanding,” as the “lived self,” as the


“contextualized self...” (Nakkula, 2006)

What are your identities? Do you have a growth or fixed mindset? What steps can individuals
take to deepen, modify, reflect on, and reinvent their self-understanding? The intent is for the
rubric to be used throughout the year in order to qualitatively and quantitatively show personal
growth.
