Subject Dance

Learning Objective DI.11  The student will identify periods and styles of dance and
artists who contributed to the development of dance as a concert
art form from the 1900 to present

DI.13  The student will explain how dance reflects and records
history and culture.

DI.22  The student will identify and articulate preferences that

form the basis for making personal aesthetic judgments about
dance.
Pedagogy

Activity

1. Students research an important figure in the development

of concert dance from the 1900 to present. Students will
find 5 reliable sources to use as references in the
presentation.

2. Students will create a Prezi presentation about the life,

dance work and influence this person had on the
foundation of concert dance from the 1900 to present.
Students will add a reflection slide at the end of their
presentation voicing their aesthetic judgment on the work
of this person.

3. Students will then present their Prezi presentations to the

class.
