BSP 330 – Strategic Brand Management

This coursework involves analysing well-known brands in the international market. This
is to be done as a group – with each group having not more than ten members. The

Each group has been allocated a specific brand. The brands are:
Group A – Gucci
Group B - Blackberry Bold
Group C - Nando's
Group D - Nike
Group E - BP
Group F - Dell
Group G - Durex
Group H - Katie Price

Task:
Students are required to examine various branding issues – Brand Image, Brand
Perception, Brand Value, Band Personality, etc. The assignment is divided into various
stages.

Student groups should meet at regular intervals of time and a log of the meeting and the
nature of the discussion should be maintained. There should be a minimum of one
meeting a week. The log of the student meetings should be emailed to the Course
Administrator on the last Friday of the month by 5PM.

Stage 1: A survey needs to be undertaken amongst (prospective/existing) customers.


Create a questionnaire that can be distributed to the respondents. This questionnaire
should be submitted to the Course Administrator by 5 PM on November 12th.

Stage 2: The survey should target a minimum of 100 respondents. The responses to the
questionnaires should be evaluated and the analysis with graphs/charts/figures should be
emailed to the Course Administrator by 5 PM on December 17th.

Stage 3: The findings of the survey and the analysis of the company should be presented
in the form of a 12-minute presentation at 9.15AM on January 10th 2011.
 All members SHOULD participate in the presentation
 Visual aids MUST be used
 All members should appear in formal attire – casual and semi-formal clothing will
not be acceptable
 The presentation will be followed by a question and answer session
 Members will be evaluated individually
 With the presentation, a hard copy of the presentation and a report should be
submitted. You should also submit the log of your meetings
 The word limit of the report is 3000. Only one copy of the coursework should be
submitted by the entire group

up with a fail grade.
