1. Da Rules
Core rules are as per blood bowl boxed game (2016) and death zone books 1 and 2. This also includes the
rules published in white dwarf (such as balls) and all collated in the Blood Bowl Almanac. Please note
these also include the new inducements available in all spike Journals and the 2018 edition of the
Almanac.
Star Players: All star players in blood bowl, death zone, spike Journals and the 2018 edition of the
Almanac and CRP are available for purchase and inducement. Please see the inducement documents for
clarification on team specific inducements
In Out
*The commissioner does not intend to maintain a list of which star players are attached to teams. Instead
coaches are encouraged to come up with different names and we’ll pretend that Borg’n’Throg and
Morg’n’Thorg are different players. This is primarily to help ease the administrative burden on the
commissioner – attempts to use this ruling to get two of the same star player playing on the same team
will not be well received.
Please note the Swift Brothers, Graak And Crumbleberry and Brick Far'th and Grotty count as two star
players – so cannot be purchased in this way (whatever you call them) although they can still be induced
as normal.
All star players in BB2016, DZ 1+2, SPIKE Journal (All issues) the CPR plus the Bugmans ones are all
available for use. If unsure please ask.
2. Da Teams
Returning teams: as per death zone season 1/Almanac rules with the alteration that all teams count as
having played 11 games. I.e. 110k for games played, whilst td and cas should be averaged over number
of games played and then multiplied up by 11, rounding up.
Once you have awarded skills then you randomise the remainder and then roll on the improvement
table. There are no restrictions on who can gain skills in this way.
Once this process is complete players start the league with the minimum number of spp they would need
to have the number of improvements they have.
3. Da League Structure
It is the expectation that games are organised (date agreed by both coaches) before the end of the first
week of that period. Any later than that is more likely to lead to an unplayed game. Let's face it... we're
here to enjoy playing the game, not to chase people to play!
In the event of an unscheduled game, da manajmunt reserve the right to decide the outcome. If it boils
down to a scheduling issue (as in neither party can find a time to play, provided a dialogue has taken
place between the two coaches) then it is more that likely to be a draw. In other situations, both parties
will be listened to before deciding upon the outcome and implications for future league play. Results will
be as fair and impartial as possible. Wins will be awarded as 2 -0 td and 2- 0 cas to the victors, draws as 1-
1 td and 1-1 cas to both sides. Random dice rolls will determine the players scoring the td and cas.
Following this, the normal post game procedures apply for both teams, including winnings, fan factor,
mvp and skill rolls. Any players that were MNG for the intended fixture are now considered to have
served their missed game status and will be eligible to play next game. You can ask for the dice rolls on
the group facebook page or in person, as long as they are witnessed.
League scoring system: 6 points for a win, 3 for a draw, 1 for a loss as long as you don’t concede. A
conceded game will result in Zero points for the conceding team.
The league will be split into x conferences of x teams each (based on x coaches) and we will run to play
off periods following the regular season. At the moment it is intended that there will be 2 separate sets of
play offs starting at the quarter final stage or best 16 teams. So 24 teams will qualify. A top 8 playoff (Fido
Bowl) and a mid 16 (lumpy Trophy).
Further details regarding the play offs will be provided in a future document to follow shortly. With
regards to star players in the playoffs: Star players need to be rostered in the final game of the league
season in order to play for a team. Star Players and Mercenaries are not available as inducements when
it comes to playoff games.
Optional matches can also be played at this point, such as a 3rd/4th place playoff, A stunty off or a good
old wooden spoon final. Clear rules for these will be agreed before the games take place with
commissioner approval needed. Please note that these will be one of the few occasions .
If two teams are level on points at the end of the season they will be separated as follows. 1) touchdowns
scored 2) casualties caused 3) If teams have played during the season, result of their match. 4) Strength
of schedule 5) dice off/Jelly Wrestling (provided both coaches agree)
4. Da Reporting of Da fixtures
All players must submit their team via the team registration form on www.wowlof.co.uk
All players must submit their results through the website following each game. Please all include
information about any players who have died or are fired. Players that you have hired should be added
including any TD, CAS or COMP gained during that match e.g. journeymen. Please note that injuries
caused by fouls are not reported as casualties.
Players have scored touchdowns or caused casualties should be listed correctly on the results submission
form. The website will maintain a list of the leading players for td, cas and comp purposes.
The leading player in each category will receive the fan favourite skill during the playoffs.
It is the responsibility of the winning coach to submit the result, or the highest TV team in the event of a
draw, however it is recommended that both coaches submit the result to avoid errors and ensure their
players are named correctly for validation.
Any results that are not submitted will be counted as having been abandoned and no points will be
scored. Please only report casualties that count for SPP purposes. For avoidance of doubt SPP are NOT
earned for failed dodges, crowd pushes, fouls, secret weapons etc.
5. Da SportsOrcship
If your opponent asks to share your dice or to see your roster then you must be prepared to do so. All
rosters should be available to see at any time. Any dice rolls as part of the pre or post match procedure
should be witnessed by your opponent, especially winnings, fan factors, MVP and skill rolls. Your
opponent should also be able to clearly work out which model matches the player on your roster. As a
minimum, the player number should be labelled on the base and/or model. Bands may also be used to
denote skills on players, as yet with no official league guidelines on colours. If you use bands, please
make sure your opponent is clear on the colour scheme that you are using.
There are wildly varying opinions about what constitutes "sportsmanship" in blood bowl. New players will
learn to understand that stalling (running down the clock instead of scoring immediately) and fouling can
be part of the game. Equally veteran players will recognise that playing "hard ball" against newbies is
pointless and potentially counter productive to the health of the league. There are no hard and fast rules
but we ask each player to play to win (obviously) but to have account for their opponents level of
experience and enjoyment.
6. Da Bounties
Unique to this league: Declare your bounty an open forum... nominally the Facebook Group. Announce
player and amount of gold for starting bounty. You must be able to pay the amount from your treasury if
needed. You may change amount of gold after every 2 games. Bounty is paid when declared player Dies,
after any apothecary re-roll. Be prepared, when you set a bounty, your players can also be a target.
