When we talk with someone or say a phrase, we use a different words to it give a meaning to sentence
and the people can understand all that we say. Every word have a different task in the speech. In the
speech we have 9 parts that is use to build a sentence. That parts are: Noun, Pronoun, verb, adverb,
adjetcive, article, preposition, interjection, conjuntcion.
We need to know that the parts of speech help us to say our ideas, emotions, actions and allows us to
communicate in English.
1) Noun: Is every name of a person, thing, place or animal that is the subject in the sentence. The
Noun identify about who is spoken in the sentence. For example: Marcus is very tall. Marcus is
the noun in this sentence.
2) Pronoun: Is a words that we use to replace the Noun. When we use the pronoun only change
how we call the subject but is the same about we talk. Can be a personal pronoun: I, you, he,
she it, we, they. For example: She have a good job.
3) Verb: Is the action in the sentence. Is use to describe what happen with the noun or what are he
doing in that sentence. The verb can be a feeling, action that happen in this moment to. For
example: We going to the beach in my mom's car. “Going” describes what we are doing in that
moment.
4) Adjective: Some words that describes to Noun. The adjective says the characteristic of the
noun. Can be: blue, big, happy, small, quiet, noiseless. For example: The happy dog.
5) Adverb: It's similar to adjective but qualify the verb, the adjective or another adverb. Adverbs
provide a description of how, where, when, in what manner and to what extent something is
done or happen. (usually, normally, well, careful, quickly, etc.). For example: She plays tennis
very well. Well is adverb because describe how she play and very is adverb because modify
another adverb.
6) Article: Are words that define a noun as specific or unspecific. Can be definite article (the) is
use to limit the meaning of a noun to one particular thing (I go to the party). Or the indefinite
article (a,an) indicates that a noun refers to a general idea no a particular thing (I heard an
interesting story yesterday).
7) Conjunction: It's any words that joins toghether to sentence or phrase and become in only one.
(But, because, and, or). For example: She cries because her arm is broken.
8) Preposition: Is a word used to connect nouns, pronouns or phrases to other words in a sentence.
They are normally placed directly in front of nouns. (of, to, for, with, on, at...). For example:
Buy me a present on my birthday.
9) Interjection: Can be a words, phrases or sounds that is used to expresses emotion or sentiment
such as surprise, joy enthusiasm, excitement or disgust... For example: Wow! That is amazing.
If we know how use all these words and when, We can make a sentence and understand the language
perfectly. It's so important know that the context can change the meaning words but the idea is
communicate what you want to say.
