The new KLX150BF and KLX150,
successors to the KLX150L and KLX150
respectively, offer riders serious off-road
performance for riding in the jungle and on
other off-road trails.
A simple, yet reliable air-cooled single-
cylinder engine and highly rigid, box-
section perimeter frame are complemented
by large-diameter wheels. Riders have
two wheel sizes to choose from. The
KLX150 uses 19” front and 16” rear to
overcome obstacles encountered on the
trail. The larger-diameter wheels (21” front
and 18” rear) and inverted front fork of the
KLX150BF offer an even higher level of off-
road performance.

The simple, air-cooled single-cylinder engine offers an easy-to-use and highly reliable power plant. Short gearing results in engine
performance focused on the low-mid range, ensuring the strong low-end torque ideal for tackling tough off-road situations like jungle trails. And
with electric start, starting is as easy as a quick push of the button.

Engine 5-speed Transmission

* The 4-stroke air-cooled single cylinder engine offers a lightweight power
plant with both reliability and strong performance.
* Bore and stroke of 58.0 x 54.4 mm yield a displacement of 144 cm3.
* Keihin NCV24 carburettor ensures smooth throttle response.
* Forged piston is lightweight and very tough, for low reciprocating
weight.
* Secondary air system contributes low exhaust emissions.
* Exhaust emissions clear Euro-III emissions regulations. A larger
catalyser (located at the silencer entrance) ensures emissions
regulations continue to be met with the shorter gearing.

* 5-speed transmission ensures there is a gear for every situation,
enabling quick pick-up when accelerating from a stop, and relaxed
cruising ability when riding at higher speeds.
* Shorter final gearing care of larger rear sprockets (and smaller front
sprocket for the KLX150) than those of their predecessors (KLX150:
46/14 vs 43/15; KLX150BF: 52/14 vs 47/14) focuses the engine’s
performance in the low-mid rpm range. This contributes to increased
off-road performance, the stronger low-end enabling riders to continue
moving forward even when navigating tricky off-road trails.

ALL-DAY BUSH EXPLORATION

With the highly rigid perimeter frame of the KLX150L, plus updated
suspension settings (including an inverted fork for the KLX150BF),
and new brake discs (and pads for the KLX150), the KLX150BF
and KLX150 offer greater off-road performance for all-day bush
rides. Both models also deliver increased off-road riding comfort
and reliability.

* Lower seat height on the KLX150 (825 mm compared to 870 mm on the

* Short 2.1 m turning radius translates to easy manoeuvrability both on
the trail and in the city.
