To whom it may concern,

I am writing to express my interest in the AdventHealth Nurse Residency Program for the
Emergency Department or ICU track. I am very interested in starting my career in a high acuity
setting, and I believe Advent Health is the best place for me to begin. I have a very high interest
in emergency medicine, trauma, and challenging situations. After gaining experience, I plan to
become certified as a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner and continue working in the ED. My
overall career goal is to earn a Doctorate in Nursing Practice and work as a Nurse Practitioner in
the ED.

So far, during my BSN program, I have completed approximately 855 hours of clinical
experience and will have 1,215 clinical hours upon completion. I have detailed the skills attained
within my attached resume. Additionally, you will find an extensive list of volunteer work that I
have, and continue to participate in. These experiences helped me develop quick assessment
skills and differential diagnoses based on presenting symptoms. I have also developed strong
therapeutic communication techniques that have helped me de-escalate situations with mentally
ill patients. These experiences have also given me a stronger understanding of various patient
populations and expanded my cultural competency I have received my Advanced Cardiovascular
Life Support certification and will become IO certified in the near future.

Teaching hospitals such as yours deliver excellent patient care and provide both students and
new nurses with wonderful opportunities for growth in a safe learning environment. I believe the
orientation, education, and hands-on training in the AdventHealth Nurse Residency Program will
provide me with the tools necessary to safely transition into a fully competent nurse. Thank you
