1. I think that the best time for the Earth-Mars mission trip would be in September 2033.

From now until 2027 the distance between the two planet goes up all the way to 101.42

AU. After 2027 the distance starts to decline until we get to 2033 where it would be

63.28 AU. I think that this would be favorable trip because at the next opposition, the

distance would be 56.91 AU which is shorter than their first trip.

2. I think that the ideal crew list would consist of different kinds of engineers, doctors, and

scientists. I think that all of these types of people are needed in order to make the mission

as successful as possible. In ranking order, I would think that there should be: Space

Craft Engineers, Pilots, Astronauts, Research Scientists, Medical Doctors, and Space

Technicians or Assistants. I think that should one of the Engineers be hurt or not able to

fulfill his duties, then the pilots should take command.

3. I think that the crew should definitely be multinational. I think by having the different

types of people on the mission that there would be plenty of different ways of think along

with different educations all onboard. Different countries raise different people so I think

that the more thoughts that can go into making each decision whether it was good or bad

situation would be very important. I think by having one nation of people that we would

not be able to be at full potential.

4. I think that the crew members should be a combination of both genders. I think that each

one brings a lot to the table so I think it would not be fair to leave one out over the other.

5. I think that there should not be just one leader and I like the idea better of there is a new

leader for each different phase of the mission. I think by having one person in control all

the time that it could lead to problems and even mutiny. I think it’s best that everyone

carries the leadership role at some point. I think that everyone has different areas of

expertise so when it comes time to do certain things, I think that the most educated

person on that subject should be in charge.

6. Some of the biohazards I think would be the initial take off and the journey there and

back. I think space travel in itself is dangerous enough and does not leave a lot of room

for any errors. Another thing would be having enough food and supplies to make it on

Mars for a little over two years. I think that this could be an issue if things are not taken

care of properly. Another thing could be the environment on Mars. I do not think that

there is a lot that we really know about Mars on a day to day basis so they would have to

be prepared for things that could be unexpected.
