Structured note taking is a good skill to that can help you stay organized and follow along
during classes. Taking structured notes in class helps improve information retention and
impart note-taking skills they can use in their professional lives.
Lesson Structure/ ENGAGE: (5 minutes)
Procedures:  The teacher will begin the lesson by asking students what they know about the

 Two- three students will give a summary of what they learned during the lesson.
 The teacher will then give the students the Branches of Government Worksheet for
the students to cut out and glue in their Social Studies notebook for homework

Follow Up: For students who do not understand during independent reading time the teacher will pull a
