1. Do you agree or disagree with Richard Lewis (Communication Consultant from UK) who
asserted this statement. Explain your answer

Whatever the culture, there’s a tongue in our head. Some use it, some hold it, and
some bite it. For the French, it is a rapier, thrusting in attack; the English, using it
defensively, mumble a vague and confusing reply; For Italians and Spaniards, it is an
instrument of eloquence; Finns and East Asians throw you with their constructive silence.
Silence is a form of speech, so don’t interrupt it.

I agree , because in the process of communication. Whatever culture we belong

as long as we communicate it well there is understanding and feedback. English is the
International medium that every individual in this world should know how and it is must
to know how to speak the English language. English Language is a means of
communication to all people who wants to share, learn and teach one’s ideas and
opinions.

The impact of having different subcultures in a school is misunderstanding of
beliefs, bullying also arise because of dominant culture like, if a one tribe is more
dominant than the others then the other tribe maybe shy or coy to share their ideas and
opinions like in a class discussion for instance.

3. In what ways could a teacher set the classroom in a Culturally-Responsive Teaching?

Teachers nowadays, are so vigilant and responsible in a classroom settings. With
my observation, Teachers knows best like in a scenario wherein a problem arise in terms
of different cultures. Teachers shouldn’t be one sided it should be feedbacking of win
and win solution so that learners feel that they belong each other and learners are more
responsible to learn because of conducive and interesting setting to learn.
