SCOPE AND DELIMITATION

This study is conducted to document the practices of the Child Jesus of Prague

School students. The researchers are going to conduct this study for them to be

knowledgeable about the practices of the high school students in media literacy and

online shopping, and for them to be able to make and give recommendations and

solutions.

The respondents are from grade 9,10 and 12, who have an idea and who have

experienced using online shopping applications. The data to be gathered are going to

be based upon the following: (1) practices of online shopping, (2) frequency of doing

online shopping, (3) level of media literacy in terms of paid or fake reviews, defective

products, authenticity and quality (4) the significant relationship between media literacy

and practices in online shopping.

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

The result of this study will be of great help especially to the students, online

shoppers, parents, teachers, and for the future researchers.

This study will be beneficial to the students because it will provide information

that will help them to be aware and to learn about the proper usage of media, especially

in online shopping. This will help them to be media literate students not just in online

shopping, but also in everything that they do that involves the use of media.

For online shoppers, this study will benefit them because they will learn how to

prevent, how to react, and how to take responsible actions with regards to the dangers
that they might encounter in online shopping. Also, online shoppers will now learn to

make wise decisions in buying a product online.

The parents can also benefit from this study because it will help them to

understand their child more, in order to guide them when buying online. This will help

the parents in helping to avoid inappropriate things that might to happen to their child.

This may also help in lowering the risk of engaging their child to different cases just like

scam.

This study will help the teachers to discover if their students have enough

knowledge about the proper use of media. This will also help the teachers, especially

the computer teachers to guide their students with the proper usage of media like in

online shopping. With that, they may also assess the practices of the students in

shopping online, if they consider different things before buying something online, etc.

For the future researchers, this study may serve as a basis or reference for their

future research can be related to our topic. It may also give them an overview about

media literacy and online shopping practices of the students.
