A PROPOSED ACTIVITY FOR THE INCOMING SCHOOL INTRAMURAL MEET 2019

I. Title:
SCHOOL INTRAMURAL MEET 2019 “TEAMWORK Makes Impossible Possible”
II. Target Participants:
The participants are teachers and all pupils of Tapia Elementary School from Kinder to Grade 6 with a
total number of 850.
III. Proposed Date and Venue
The activity will be held on July 26, 2019 at Tapia Elementary School.
IV. Funding Source
Pupils Development Fund and PTA Fund
V. Proponent:
LESTER R. PENALES – T1/ School Sports Coordinator
VI. Rationale:
The sports intramural program is one of the most important events on a school’s yearly activities. This is
where the pupils and teachers interact and cooperate on different sports discipline. This will develop unity,
cooperation, sportsmanship and friendly fellowship among pupils from different grade levels. This event will
surely enhance the pupil’s talent on the sports they engaged to play.
In line with the RA 10588 an Act Institutionalizing The Conduct Of The Palarong Pambansa and
Appropriating Funds stating the policy of the State to promote physical education and encourage sports
programs, league competitions and amateur sports, including training for international competitions, to foster self-
discipline, teamwork and excellence for the development of a healthy and alert citizenry through the
institutionalization of the Palarong Pambansa as the country’s premier national sporting event.
Hence, it shall be a declared policy of the State to support programs that will improve and promote the
Palarong Pambansa as the primary avenue for providing in-school sports opportunities to improve the physical,
intellectual and social well-being of the youth. All educational institutions are therefore directed to promote
physical education and undertake regular sports activities as well as support the local meets and the Palarong
Pambansa.
However, two of the biggest problems encountered by the school yearly during Intramural are the lack
of space for the venue of the games and lack of sports equipment for different sports discipline. These result to
inefficient, ineffective and sports-ready athletes to compete in the biggest arena outside the school. Practice is
also limited and there’s no enough budget which is very essential to fund this undertaking. Thus, the school will
conduct 2-day intramural meet to ensure that the school will be able to select the best player as representative in
the forthcoming Interschool 2019 to be held on September.
VII. Objectives:
1. Allow pupils to develop psychomotor skills and fine-tune motor skills with coordination, movement,
strength, dexterity, grace, and speed, and find healthy outlets for energy.
2. Further develop teamwork, discipline, sportsmanship, justice, respect and friendship among athletes.
3. Encourage pupils to join different sports cater by the school
4. Understands significance of being involved in different sports discipline
5. Promote camaraderie and rapport among pupils, instructors, parents, and administration.
