Introduction
Every hydrocarbon reservoir is a valuable asset. To ensure the best possible return, not
just in terms of the commercial factors, although it is clearly the driving factor is
important to understand the reservoir as much as possible about the reservoir.
Fortunately, the pioneering instinct and inquisitive mind of mankind have developed
some techniques like: Seismic Data Acquisition, Electric Line Logging, Core Analysis,
Well Testing Analysis and PVT Analysis to help gain valuable data in which in turn
develops a descriptive picture or simulated model of the reservoir in question.
It is stated that well test analysis is a critical tool to understand well and reservoir
performance. By definition, well test is simply a period of time during which the
production of the well is measured, either at the well head with portable well test
equipment, or in a production facility. It is different from most techniques as it requires
the reservoir to be dynamic state as oppose to the static state in order to trigger the
response needed.
