Equipment and tools involved are as follows:

2. Procedure:

2.1. Installation Methodology for Structured Cablimg

1.1.1 The cables must conform to a minimum of CAT6 with 23 AWG and as per
ANSI/TIA/EIA-568-B as per TRA guidelines.

1.1.2 The maximum UTP cable length should not exceed 90 meter.

1.1.3 2 Core Single mode fiber optic cable shall be pulled from ODF to individual
apartments, Multi core single mode fiber optic cable shall be pulled to each ODF unit
from Main Telephone Room Cabinet and Cat6 cable shall be pulled from ONU cabinet
to the final outlet either horizontally or vertically.

1.1.4 Fish tape shall be inserted through the outlet backbox and should be used to pull the
cable.

1.1.5 Cables should be continuous and free from any joints.

1.1.6 Each socket in the dual RJ45 outlet must be wired back to the consolidation point.

1.1.7 At the consolidation point the cables must be terminated on an RJ45 patch panel and
labelled with the socket and outlet served.

1.1.8 Floor mounted outlets shall be trimmed in parallel with Tile / Carpet final finishing.

1.1.9 After the Cat6 cabling has been done at the outlets, the cable installer will return to
the ODF to pull Fibre optic cable at that end.

1.1.10 Multicore fiber cables must be continuous lengths free from joints, branches or
patching from main telecom room to each mini ODF (splice cabinet) unit.

1.1.11 Cables shall enter the equipment racks / enclosures in such manner that all doors or
access panel can be closed without damaging the cables.

1.1.12 Cables shall be maintained with ‘D’ ring inside the rack.

1.1.13 Cables shall be installed and fastened in without causing sharp bends or rubbing of the
cables against sharp edges.

1.1.14 Cables passing through cut edge holes in a cabinet shall be protected by providing
nylon / rubber grommets to avoid damages in cables.

1.1.15 Wires and cables to be protected from kinks during installation and dressing.

1.1.16 Support cables at intervals not exceeding one meter and not more than 150mm from
cabinets, racks, frames, outlets wherever possible.

1.1.17 Cabinet shall be bonded with copper wire.

1.1.18 Outdoor installations shall be weather proof IP65 rated.

1.1.19 All the cables and outlets to be identified.

1.1.20 Cabinets, containments should be grounded as mentioned in the specifications.

1.1.21 All vertical and under floor trays shall be covered with cable tray cover.

1.1.22 Back bone cables shall be separately routed using different cable trays.

1.1.23 Spare space of 600 mm to be provided on each side of the cabinet to allow access,
