theories and context for learning. 1. What foods come from seeds?
2. What seeds do we eat?
Together as a class, we will sequence the steps on how to plant a seed.
We will do this by counting the 6 six as well as placing photos to match
the 6 steps.
After counting the 6 steps of planting a seed. Together as a group,
students will follow the 6 step and plant their own flower. This will
include using the paper plate as the earth, putting seeds into the
ground, placing watering can to water the seed and the sun to help
grow the tree.
Closure: Together as a class, we will review the different steps of
planting a seed.
Questions that will be asked:
1. What would happen if we planted the seed in paper?
2. What would happen if we didn’t water the seed?
3. What kind of animals can eat the seeds we grow?
Transition: Students will act out one of the steps in growing a plant.
(Example: pretend to water the plant, pretend to dig the dirt for the
seed)

Individualization
To incorporate personal learning, the students who need more
challenging work will complete a separate worksheet about the details
of the insect from the story.
Students who need extra help will be given multiple options of repeating
the work. Students will also get up to physically represent placing the
steps in the correct order.

Interdisciplinary
ELA: Throughout this activity, students will be listening to the story,
speaking about the different facts in the story, writing and explaining
what they read about.
Central Focus Subject specific content: (language, math, science, social studies)
In this lesson, students will learn how to sequence the steps of growing
a plant. This lesson will follow the standard B. EL. 2 Understands
number operations and relationships. The purpose of teaching this
content is for students to be able to increase their math and sequencing
events. This lesson plan is based on the Wisconsin Model Early
Learning Standards (WMELS), which incorporated visual and authority.
