I. Introduction
The construction of farm buildings should consider housing of animals, farm personnel,
farm implements and supplies / consumables. The benefits with farm buildings include providing
ease and handling the animals in overall operation, preventing against inclement weather and
predators, minimizing the occurrence of disease and parasites, increasing feed efficiency and animal
performance, and showing the rate of depreciation of farm equipment.
The farm buildings are not necessarily constructed with expensive materials and extensive,
as long as it served the purpose. The criteria should include simplicity, efficiency and durability. In
both small and large ruminants housing and facilities are equally important and very much
dependent on the availability of materials, weather and the type of production to be employed.
Similarly proper facilities and equipment must be provided for a more convenient, healthy and
productive ruminant farming.
II. Objectives
1 To develop thinking skills on improving housing situation and site location of ruminant
houses.
2. To know the different facilities, equipment and tools, and their specific functions in the
small and large ruminants farm.
III. Materials:
VISION
A globally competitive university of science, technology and environmental conservation.
MISSION
Development of a highly competitive human resource, cutting – edge scientific knowledge and
innovative technologies for sustainable communities and environment.
IV. Methods/Procedures
