d=858299403)
A) Meyer's use of the term in this sense is contrary to its usual meaning in science and
engineering, in which such cells are conventionally called "electrolytic cells".
B) Today his patents have expired, and his inventions are now in the public domain
available for all to use without restriction or royalty payment.
C) He estimated that instead of using a large amount of gasoline, only 83 liters of water
were required to travel from Los Angeles to New York.
D) He claimed that an automobile retro-fitted with the device could use water as fuel
instead of gasoline.
E) Meyer was eager to show the Professor that the cell technology used in the buggy
got patented.
F) The hydrogen gas was then used to generate energy, a process that reconstituted
the water molecules.
G) The court found Stanley had committed gross and egregious fraud and ordered him
to repay the two investors.
H) One of them started an investigation on his own and found the missing technology.
He later initiated the production of fuel-cell cars in a huge multinational company.
According to Stanley, the device required less energy to perform electrolysis than the
minimum energy requirement predicted or measured by conventional science.
Throughout his patents, Meyer used the terms "fuel cell" or "water fuel cell" to refer to
the portion of his device in which electricity passes through water to produce hydrogen
and oxygen. 2. …………………………………………………… .
He had patents on his invention and was ready for production. However, in 1996, he
was sued by two investors to whom he had sold dealerships, offering them the right to
do business in Water Fuel Cell technology. His car was due to be examined by expert
witness Professor Michael Laughton. 4. ………………………………… . According to
Meyer, the technology was patent pending and under investigation by the patent office,
the Department of Energy and the military. His device was also examined by three
experts in court who found that there was nothing revolutionary about the cell at all and
that it was simply using conventional electrolysis. 5. ……………………………………. .
Later in March 1998, Stanley mysteriously passed away from poisoning after dining at
a local restaurant. A week later his house was burgled and all of his experimental
equipment went missing. Some of Meyer's supporters believe that he was
assassinated to suppress his inventions. 6. …………………………………… . Despite
this, no engine or vehicle manufacturer has incorporated Stanley's work.

Your friends are having some problems in their relationships. You are looking at

I met a guy while I was overseas in the UK and have been talking romantically
online since December, after I returned to Australia. Really strong feelings
developed between us and he asked me to be his girlfriend, I said no because
A we were in different countries. But now he wants to come to stay with me for 2
weeks. I'm concerned that things between us will be significantly different in
person rather than online and that if we don't connect the same way, things will
fall apart. What should I do??
I have recently discovered that my partner of 26 years has recently began a
relationship with someone he met on FB. To the best of my knowledge, the
relationship has just been conversations about our relationship. Recently I
B
discovered that he had been paying for private chat lines as well and spending a
lot of money to do so. Is it an affair or not? If not, why the secrets and private
chat lines?
I met this guy almost two years ago online. I love him to death now. But recently,
after a year and a half of relationship, he said that his name wasn't the one he
C told me and his photo was fake, too. He said he did it because he's afraid that I’d
hate his real identity. He promised he is not hiding anything anymore and he
would die for me. I forgave him because I love him a lot.
I have been messaging back and forth every day with someone I met online. I
find that I am thinking about him all the time. Also becoming possessive and
D anxious about him being online with others. Oh, I should mention, he lives
hundreds of miles away and we haven't even met yet! Has this ever happened
to anyone else?

Not saying this is what is going on in this case, but when a guy says he
doesn’t want his real ID to be out there it usually means that he is hiding it
C
from someone else. In all honesty, if you have never met him then why do
you love him so much?
1.
He is getting far too ahead of himself. You two are nowhere near ready to
even talk about this yet. Perhaps you could meet in the middle of a holiday,
and then see how you feel. I sense he's getting pushy, so you need to be
firm if you're not feeling the same.
2.
I don't think it's possible to truly fall in love with anyone online, simply
because you can never know who a person truly is without meeting them
face to face. Sounds to me that you've forged a fantasy of who this man is
and what he could have been to you. However, what you are imagining in
your head is not real.
3.
What you should focus on and pay attention to is that your relationship is
in deep trouble and the emotional connection between you and your
partner has broken down to the point where he is reaching out for that to
other sources. My advice to you is that you need to start sorting out what's
going on between you and what's broken with your relationship asap.
4.
Well done for standing your ground and allowing your head to rule your
heart. If it doesn't feel right or ready then it probably isn't. Tell him he is
welcome to visit but maybe not to stay with you.
5.
You can’t love someone you have never met. This guy admits to lying to
you in a big way. He could be married, have a serious girlfriend, a bunch
of kids. Find someone in your area you can see and be with and hang out
with and share a real relationship with.
6.
Sounds like he's lonely, bored and looking for people to talk to. It may or
may not be in the affair zone yet. Why not suggest therapy before pointing
fingers at nebulous activity? Does he know you know? How do you know
all this, btw?
7.
You don't even know this guy, as you have never met. He lied to you about
a name, god knows what else. He is a stranger. Your relationship is a
fantasy. Find someone you can have a real relationship with.
8.
You've never met so you're viewing him from a distance and ONLY from
what he’s showing you.... This is harsh, but sometimes men just like
chatting with women because it makes them feel good and desired by
someone.

Recent developments in artificial intelligence, robotics, and machine learning have put
us at the start of a new automation age. Robots and computers can not only perform
a range of routine physical work activities better and less expensively than humans,
but they are also increasingly capable of performing activities that include cognitive
capabilities once considered too difficult to automate successfully, such as making
judgments, sensing emotion, or driving. Automation will change the daily work activities
of everyone, from factory workers to bankers, fashion designers and CEOs. But how
quickly will these automation technologies become a reality in the workplace? And
what will their impact be on employment and productivity in the global economy?
The Bright Future Institute has been conducting an ongoing research program on
automation technologies and their potential effects. A new BFI report, The future that
works, highlights several key findings.
The activities most susceptible to automation are physical ones in highly structured
and predictable environments, and also in data collection and processing. They are
most prevalent in accommodation, manufacturing and the service industry. And it’s not
just low-skill, low-wage work that could be automated; middle-skill and high-paying,
high-skill jobs also have a degree of automation potential. Since processes are
transformed by the automation of individual activities, people will perform activities that
complement the work that machines do, and the other way around.
However, automation will not happen overnight. Even when the technical potential
exists, we estimate that it will take years for automation’s effect on current work
activities to play out fully. The pace of automation, and its influence on workers, will
vary across different activities, occupations, and wage and skill levels. Factors that will
determine the pace and extent of automation include the ongoing development of
technological capabilities, the cost of technology, supply and demand dynamics,
competition with labour including skills, performance benefits and social acceptance.
While much of the current debate about automation has been focusing on the potential
for mass unemployment, people will need to continue working alongside machines to
produce GDP growth. Most of the productivity estimates assume that people displaced
by automation will find other employment. Many workers will have to change, and
business processes are expected to be transformed.
Summary:
With the rapid development of robotics and artificial intelligence, humanity is on the
verge of a new 0. automation age. As machines can perform a wide range of physical
and mental work more 1. .... and more cheaply than humans, the work-life of people
from all walks of life will be radically changed by automation. The results of the 2. ....
conducted about this topic by The Bright Future Institute suggest that automation will
facilitate improvement in the performance and productivity of businesses, which will
lead to a growing and more 3. .... economy. High-skill and low-skill occupations are
equally susceptible to a certain degree of automation, which leads to an increasing 4.
.... about potential mass unemployment. Researchers, however, suggest that a 5. ....
level of automation to be implemented will take several decades, and even those
workers who will be 6. .... by machines will have an opportunity to find other
employment.

Technology News is very excited today by the news that Juicy-juice -- a $400 juice-
making device built by a company that has raised $120 million, has a problem.
Apparently you can squeeze the juice from the company's juice packs, which run $5-8
each, with your bare hands! A report this morning suggests investors in the company
are concerned that consumers might be able to buy $2000 a year worth of juice from
the company without spending $400 on a machine that just a year ago cost $700. Wait,
what?
Let's break this down for the uninitiated. First, you should know that Juicy-juice is
backed by some serious tech investors despite not being an especially technology
heavy company. Legendary tech firms were part of the prodigious fundraising Juicy-
juice accomplished even before launching a product. The appeal was doubtless a
combination of the recurring revenue nature of the business -- buy the machine once,
buy juice for a long time after -- and the little splashes of technology tossed in.
Juicy-juice promises to get you healthy, delicious juice within days of the fruits and
vegetables being picked. Apparently, though, the typical force generated by the hands
of a technology journalist will do the job just fine. At least one of the reporters who
worked on the Juicy-juice story (likely both!) was able to get the juice out of the pack
without the machine. Perhaps even more amazing, human hands were in some ways
more effective despite presumably being unable to "generate thousands of pounds of
force”. I'll let the reporters explain: "In our squeeze tests, hands did the job quicker, but
the device was slightly more thorough. Reporters were able to wring 7.5 ounces of
juice in a minute and a half. The machine yielded 8 ounces in about two minutes."
The News verse was clearly abuzz. One reader wrote: "This is the best tech story of
the year." Another chimed in: "Feeling good about my imaginary Juicy-juice short." The
Edge, not wanting to be left out, added, "Turns out Juicy-juice’s ludicrous Wi-Fi juicer
is even more unnecessary than it sounds." Countless others felt it worthy to squeeze
out some snark, too.
Now before I explain why all of these takes were silly or off base, let me clarify
something: I think Juicy-juice is a terrible idea for a venture investment, at least at the
levels of funding it has received. Putting $120 million into an idea that lacks much
proprietary technology, involves food handling and the dangers surrounding that, and
bets on people who love convenient juice having an expensive machine and pre-made
packs to feed it seems like a generally terrible idea. (At the very least, I'd have to want
to see a small market test with a few million in investment before committing to nine
figures.)
But ironically, not requiring the expensive machine makes the idea significantly less
terrible. When Juicy-juice launched, the machine cost $700, making it hard to believe
anyone would buy one on impulse. At that price, it was useful to some small offices
filled with juice lovers and perhaps a few restaurants that saw an opportunity to get in
on the juice craze without much work. But thanks to some early success selling the
juice itself -- customers were buying 10 packs a week instead of just the 5 Juicy-juice
anticipated -- the company was able to drop the price of the machine by more than
40% to $400 in January.

A. customers.
B. pricing.
C. investors.

Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to you to complain about my purchase of a smartphone that I
ordered from your webshop 3 days ago. I read your advertisement with a lot of
interesting and fancy information therefor I immediately boght it. However after
I had received the package I was so disappointed.
First of all, I need to tell you, that this machine is not the newest design which
we could buy in the smartphone stores and it looks fully different for the picture
of your website. I tried to charge the battery during 6 hours, but it is totaly
worthless. I admit that the selfie cam can take very impressive pictures.
As sum as, I don’t like using this smartphone with satisfaction and I would like
to send back to you. I would be happy if you could refund me the cost of the
machine as soon as possible, because I need to buy another smartphone
urgently.
I am waiting for your response.
Yours Faithfully, Vivien Leigh

Hi Steve,
I'm sorry I didn't write for you for so long, quite a few things have happened in
the recent weeks. I'm moving to the UK with my family. It is now official.
I think I told you about the job that was offered to my dad some weeks ago. He
was reluctant to accept it, because my mother could have had a hard time finding
a job in the UK and of course because of me. Now my mother managed to find a
decent job, she applied and got accepted, so it is down to me. I don't mind
moving there, actually, I'm excited. I don't think changing school is going to be
a problem, they've already accepted my transfer request. I'll attend the St.
Mary's, just like you.
To be honest I'm a bit afraid of leaving my friends here, but luckily we live in the
age of the internet, so I can continue to have the online gaming sessions I'm so
fond of with them. I hope I will fit in in the new class community quickly. I know
it is hard to adapt to such changes, but I'll have you to help me.
I have to get back now, recently it's all about packing and organising everything.
I hope to hear from you soon.
See you soon,
George

Have you ever wondered about the benefits eating seasonal? I am writing this
article to share my views why cyclical dineing is so important.
Above all we have to discuss what is esential for living. You need vitamins,
micro and macro nutritions. About 90 percent of the vitamins in your body
stored in your body fat. You can just make right for your body if you gain and
lose body fat (1-2 lb) yearly. These changes will be easy if you eat seasonal, for
example everyone must notice that in winter almost all of us will be a bit
bloated. These vitamins will empty and restored by these gains.
Not only will you be more energetic, but also you will not be that fat if you
would do it monotonous. You may wonder i just stated that making some gains
is not bad. It is true but you can avoid to get corpulent as well by eating
seasonally.
You may not consider but with this diet, you can make steps against the global
warming too. If you eat what your country produceses than less food will be
transported from overseas. This way less fuel will be burned and the co2
emission will drop.
