Progress Note
Week # Reading Math Zoom
Week 1
Week 2
Week 3
Week 4
I will be sending out progress notes this week in “Classtag”. Although we are not taking official
% grades I am still required to track your child’s participation and work progress. I want to
update each of you as to how your child is progressing
progressing, in Reading and Math, during distance
learning. The building may be closed, but school is still in session. I know it can be tough to
learn from home, but each of us is expected to continue to try our best to continue educating
all children during this time of school closure.
This current session of distance learning is an adventure in exploratio
exploration
n and learning how to
navigate the online learning community. In the event that the need arises in the future to
switch quickly to distance learning and % grades are required and taken, we will all be
counting on this spring trial-run
run to prepare us and ma
makeke us comfortable and ready.

ZOOM
Just a reminder
inder that I am offering 3 zoom sessions each
week; every
very Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 11:30.
The link is in Google classroom and I send it on
“ClassTag”.

Your child does not have to attend all three, but is expected to attend at least 1.
Please put it on your family calendars.

If your child is shy and unsure about attending they still should show up to one each week,
they can simply mute their video anand
d audio. Even though we cannot see their face or hear
them, they can see me and their classmates and I can count them as present.
The government requires teachers to still remain in contact with the students because
although the building is closed schoo
schooll is still in session. If your child does not attend a zoom
during the week, expect a “check-in” phone call from me the following week. (Only 6 students
attended any zooms this past week so I have 12 individual family phone calls to make to speak with students,
so depending on the length of each call and how cooperative the baby is with me on the phone, it may take a
few days)
Please, please, please, help your children to log in and attend at least 1 zoom session a week.
The link can be used from a computer or a phone.

Field Trip Friday’s

We often took virtual field trips when we were together in the building, and distance learning
provides the perfect avenue to continue those! I have put the virtual field trip on the weekly
schedule and the link is inside google classroom. The first trip is to the rainforests of Borneo! I
will be adding a new trip each week!
