To whom it may concern:

Brittany Georgette was the lead teacher in the Algebra I class that we shared. I was in the unique
position of being both her mentor and her co-teacher. As Brittany was new to our school, and to
high school in general, I was anticipating a great deal of questions. I suppose that during the first
few days, this was true. Having come from teaching an Honors Algebra I course (8th grade),
Brittany would check to see if her activities were too high or too low for our intervention class. She
quickly learned the students, however. I was impressed at the connections she was able to make
with them early on. Brittany is easy-going and flexible, but firm in her expectations. The students
could identify with her, but also respect her. No small feat for a new-ish teacher.

Despite the challenges posed by the level of our students, Brittany had no difficulty keeping on
track with with our curriculum. At times she used the department notes and resources, but often
Brittany created her own materials, tailoring them to our students’ needs. In the classroom, she
utilized powerpoints, Desmos, EdPuzzle, NearPod, and IXL, as well as activities that had students
moving about the room. Nearly every paper that was turned in was graded that very day and
entered into Genesis. She is very conscientious about keeping students and parents updated on
progress.

I have to say, I am absolutely amazed at what she has been able to do during this time of remote
learning. Brittany has continued to use the technology she utilized in the classroom, but has since
gone much further. She has created videos of nearly every lesson and imbedded them into her
powerpoints. She has taught students how to upload documents, create data tables, use online
resources. She has not taken the easy road during this time, as I’ve seen some teachers do. Material
isn’t just pushed out to the students. Brittany is still teaching. In between making videos,
producing her own materials, and grading, she consistently meets with students, sends out emails,
and takes part in meetings. She is always looking for new or better ways of disseminating the
information.

Brittany Georgette continues to impress me with her work ethic and drive to create successful
students. I wholeheartedly recommend her for a teaching position and would welcome any
questions you may have.

Sincerely,
Ms. Dawn Morgan
