 Shape sort assessment (Attached in Weebly)

PROCEDURE:
 Anticipatory set- Solving Riddles! In the Prezi (Lesson 3), the students will
solve 3 riddles to guess what shape they are talking about. Ex) I have 6
square faces, 12 edges, and 8 vertices. What am I? A cube!
 I will explain how shapes can be found in real objects in real life. I will share
some examples with pictures.

o Certain tables can be shaped like a trapezoid
o A box is shaped like a cube or rectangular prism
o A cone is shaped like a traffic cone
o A cylinder is shaped like a water bottle
 The students will get to go on a scavenger hunt around their house or even
around their neighborhood to find different shapes. A sheet will be provided
in the Weebly website where the students can write the objects under the
shape. Once they are done, they can share what they found with someone in
their household.
 After the students finish and share the scavenger hunt, they will complete a
picture sort. They can choose between one of two sheets. One they can cut
the objects out and paste them underneath the matching shape, and for the
other sheet, the student can color the different objects to match the shape.
 Once finished, the students will remark where they think they are at on the
proficiency scale now.

MODIFICATION/DIFFERENTIATION:
 3-D Shape manipulatives
