● Present the main results of your research (from A2) in a concise list of bullet points. This must be in your own words!
● Illustrate your take-aways with imagery wherever you feel this reduces the amount of writing needed. However, don’t
add images for the sake of adding images. Cite any images that you use.

DEFINITIONS  By consulting sources, I have found out:

● Fast Fashion: “Fast fashion can be defined as cheap, trendy clothing, that
samples ideas from the catwalk or celebrity culture and turns them into garments
in high street stores at breakneck speed.” (Stanton) A basic definition would be
fast fashion can be defined as when trendy clothes that are worn on the catwalk
that are quickly moved into stores and sold for a low price. These clothes are only
being worn once by the consumer and thrown away into landfills when it’s not in
trend or not in need anymore to clear up space in their home. These garments are
usually made with low quality materials because these big companies want to
make these clothes at the cheapest price they can get.
● Fabric: Fabric is cloth made by weaving and knitting textile fibres like cotton,
nylon and wool. Items like knitting needles and a loom are used to weave and
loom clothes.
● Textiles: Textile is a type of cloth made by hand or machine.
● Garment: A garment is a type of clothing like a t-shirt or pants made out of things
like cotton and leather.

MANUFACTURING  By consulting sources about manufacturing cotton, I have found out:

● First you need to farm the cotton, it is not easy to grow cotton because it takes
quite a long time and you need lots of warm weather for it to grow.
● After it’s fully grown then you pick it using a big machine called a cotton picker.
● You then need to gin the cotton which is separating the cotton from it’s seed, the
machine used is called a cotton gin.
● After you have to spin the cotton for it to become yarn using a machine called a
spinning mule.
● You then knit, crochet, knot, tatt, felt or braid the cotton for it to become a textile.
