 esign brief
🔎 What?

❗Why?

Develop a design brief, which  You have to make a decision at this point in the project: What will you design and create,
presents the analysis of relevant  for whom and why. You want your decision to be based on sufficient background
research.  research.

⚙ How?
Research results summary
● Present the main results of your research (from A2) in a concise list of bullet points. This must be in your own words!
● Illustrate your take-aways with imagery wherever you feel this reduces the amount of writing needed. However, don’t
add images for the sake of adding images. Cite any images that you use.
● Cite (in-text) from the sources that you found your answers from. Use the proper MLA format.

DEFINITIONS  By consulting sources, I have found out:

● Fabric is the thing used to produce clothes. Fabric is made from natural fibers and
manufactured fiber.
● Textiles can mean many things. It can refer to natural fibers such as cotton and
silk. It can also mean yarn made from natural or man-made fibers. It can also
mean fabric too. It can mean garments and other things too.
● Garments are clothes and other things that can be worn.
● Fast fashion is the process where the stores get ideas from catwalks and
celebrities. They will start producing the new trend of clothes and sell them. The
price of the new clothes will be very cheap. All of this happens very quickly and it
keeps happening.

MANUFACTURING  By consulting sources about manufacturing cotton, I have found out:

● Firstly, collect the cottons from the cotton trees and remove the seeds from the
cotton. Secondly, make the fibres more tidy and combine them into yarn. Lastly,
weave yarn into fabric for producing garment.
● The main step in making the garment is sewing. There are a lot of attempts to
replace sewing, but sewing is still the best way.

TECHNIQUES AND  By consulting sources such as, I have found out the following information that I can use for
TOOLS FOR MAKING  designing and creating my product:

Techniques are fusing, wielding, adhesives and molding

CLIENT INFORMATION  By consulting sources such as, I have realized the following considerations should be
taken into account when designing and creating my product:
● For people who like sports. The material must be durable and light and can fit a
lot of things and can be cleaned easily. The design of it should be black color and
simple. I will use a drawstring design. I want two pockets in the bag. Material is
cotton. Cheap. Not so many things to bring. Lighter and clean easily. The bag will
be spoiled easily. You can replace it.
● For people who like travel. The material must be nylon. Nylon is very durable.
People who travel need a durable bat. Nylon is very light too. If the bag is too
heavy. It will make people feel tired. The bag should fit a lot of things. They may
bring some foods, drinks and a lot of other things.

PRACTICAL SKILLS  By completing the practical skills tasks, I have learned the following skills (list & explain):
● I have learnt braid. It is combining three ropes together. It can be a handle of a
bag. It can help people carry the bag easily.
● I have learnt how to sew buttons. It can be put on a very secure fabric.
● I have learnt the running stitch too. Running stitch is only go up or down. It is the
easiest one.
●
The skills that will be useful for my project are (list & explain why):
● I think braid is useful for my project, because I can make a bag.
●
The skills that I still need to practice or want to learn more about are (list & explain):
● I think the stitch skill I still have to improve.
●

of this product.
● Outline the bigger picture purpose of the product.
● Describe the client or target audience for whom you will develop the product.
