Batang Benar Commuter station is a KTM Commuter train station situated close and named
after the unassuming community of Batang Benar, Selangor Boarder, Negeri Sembilan,
Malaysia, but the people around the city are showing lack of interest to use Batang Benar
KTM train station. One of the explanations is because of poor safety and security at the
railway station. Above all else, the open suburbanite is build for every group of people
including the young independent working ladies. There was a case revealed that occurred at
the Batang Benar KTM station on a provocation issue (New Straits Time, 2018), where it
expressed that a young independent lady has been robbed and raped by few group of
alcoholics .According to the police report the incident happened around 10:30pm night. As a
result of the area insightful, there are no eyewitnesses or camera footages as evidence, and
it takes couple of months for the police officers to take a legal action against the criminals.
Danger of non-key area has brought a great deal of difficulties for the individuals particularly
to the lady. Subsequently, this has additionally caused to constrained portability and
availability for the individuals to get to the station and to their goal. This clearly shows the
hazard of lack of security guards or CCTV cameras provided could lead to someone to make
such a huge crime and innocent working ladies could lost their life.

Poor lighting System

Yet another main reason for people lost their interest was because of lack of poor lighting
system .This is because most of the passengers from their home are travelled by motorbikes
and cars parked their respective vehicles might or might not will face risk of vehicle robbery,
especially night shift workers. As I mentioned in my first point due to lack of security
cameras the police officers also might face the consequences to recover the losted vehicles.
There is a serious want to mild up the Batang Benar KTM station Car park. As it is, Vehicle
Park has been tarred, fenced up and expanded. This is most welcome indeed. However,
there are no lighting fixtures in the vehicle park. Passengers returning at night time have to
stroll in the darkish to acquire their car.
This scenario is very hazardous as the automobile park is lengthy and a long way away from
the station at its furthest point. This offers criminals possibilities to commit crimes
There was case that Police have captured a jobless man after he and five others were
spotted trespassing into a Keretapi Tanah Melayu (KTM) station at Batang benar station
here to take portions of a railroad track. The police officers said two helper police faculty
spotted six men unlawfully entering a limited zone and conveying metal parts accepted to
be compartments from the railroad track around 10.30pm on Friday. This clearly shows the
hazard of lack of Poor lighting System can cause unwanted crimes and it’s extremely dangerous.

Safety and Security
From the conversation of risk that has been recognized through the perception we have
made, giving better and enough offices is one of the proposals so as to improve the railroad
station. One of the suggestion identified the management should appoint 1 or 2 security
guards whom are well trained with martial arts in order to face some ruthless womanizers
or could provide licensed weapons to safe themselves and to secure fellow passengers.
Furthermore, the police department could arrange some police officers to go for a patrolling
at night, by doing this act we can avoid the gathering of fellow alcoholics or drug addicts
whom are creating nuisance to public. This will make it simpler for the individuals to have a
safe and peaceful journey.

Poor lighting system

The key issue to pull in suburbanite clients is by upgrading the poor lighting system. This is
because most of the working Malaysians are Parked their personal vehicles and using KTM
railway services to avoid traffic jams ,by upgrading the lighting system at the parking lot, the
management can decrease the rate of vehicle robbery and it will be helpful for the security
guards to have patrolling at the parking lot. Another way to avoid the unwanted crimes
management can install CCTV cameras at every hideout places so that if any crimes
happened it will be easy for the police officers to take a necessary action. In Conjunction .I
strongly urge the KTM administration to shortly set up lights for the protection of its
passengers.

Conclusion
In reality, in whatever we do in our daily life, we are exposed to risks of one sort or another.
Everyday we are confronted with risks that may be lead to suffer loss. Risks are unfavourable
consequences that may or may not happen in the future, which will lead us to suffer loss.
Risk can be also defined as the variability in possible outcomes of an event based on the
chance or uncertainty concerning loss. A public transportation service such as KTM has a
several cause of risks if the management didn’t provide good facilities to the passengers.
Train stations have a lot of hazards in that we sometimes that we may or may not can avoid.
So the authority of the railway management should take some safety measures in order to
protect their passengers and their properties from this kind of hazards. Safety regulators may
also provide support for the introduction new technologies, processes and operating
methods.
