That’s good.

4. Review of the past lesson.

Alright. Class can you still remember
our last topic? Sir it was the tools for testing computer
system.
Very good __________. Can you
enumerate what are those tools
needed in testing computer system. (students answer may vary)

Good job!!!
I. Activity
Before we proceed into our next lesson. I will
give you an activity first. This will be a group
activity. (the teacher will divide the class into
3 groups) The first group who can finish the
task will have reward.

Yes Sir, we are ready!

Are your ready class?

“COLOR CODING GAME”

a) provide eight strips of colored paper to the
students
b) teacher will show poster/picture showing
the first group of color combination for 10
seconds
c) each student will group the eight strips the (the student will perform the task given to
same order as it was seen from the them)
picture shown for 10seconds

Congratulations group ___________. Here is

your reward! And also congratulations to the Thank you Sir!
other group you did a great job.

Okay class, please all rise I want you to give

your selves a “Meralco Clap”.
Did you know how to do it?
(The teacher will demonstrate it)
(The student will stand up)
Not yet Sir.
Now that you know, I want you to try it.

colors?
Q3: What happens when you mix baking (students answer may vary)
soda & vinegar?
Q4: What colors did you find?
III. Abstraction
By the way class, have you heard the word Yes Sir.!
“#OOTD” ?

What does that mean? Anyone? Okay._____. Sir. It’s literally stands for #OutfitOfTheDay

Exactly _________! But did you know class

in our lesson we will call it
#ObjectivesOfTheDay.
Upon the completion of the lesson you should
be able to:

• Identify straight through cable

• Perform straight through cable and
observe safety work precautions
• Identify the tools and materials
needed in creating straight through cable.
• Appreciate the importance of Ethernet
in everyday life.

Its’s that cleared?

Okay class, when I said clear you are going

to said crystal. It’s that cleared?
Yes Sir. Cleared
Very good!!!
Sir Crystal!!

Since you have the knowledge in creating

straight through cable, let us identify first
what are the tools and materials needed in
creating “Straight Through” cable.

Okay. So those are the hand tools we need

to consider in making straight through cable.
Let’s proceed on the steps in creating straight
through cable. Who would like to read? Yes
_______?

Who would like to read the procedures in

creating straight through cable. Yes____??
STEP 1
Cut into the plastic sheath about 1 inch (2.5
cm) from the end of the cut cable. The
crimping tool has a razor blade that will do
the trick with practice.

STEP 2
Unwind and pair the similar colors.

(the students will actively listen and observe

to the teacher)

STEP 3
Pinch the wires between your fingers and
straighten them out as shown. The color
order is important to get correct.
STEP 4 and 5
Use wire cutter to cut across the wires ½ inch
from the cu sleeve to the end of both wires.
Push the wire connector. Each wire must be
fit into a slot n RJ45 connector. Note the
position of the blue plastic shielding. Also
note how the wires go all the way to the end.

STEP 6
A view from the top. All the wires are all the
way in. There are no short wires.

STEP 7
Crimping the cable - carefully place the
connector into the Ethernet Crimper and
cinch down on the handles tightly.

STEP 8
For a “Straight Through” cable, repeat all the
steps and wire color order on the other end of
the cable.

For a cross-over cable the other end will have

a different color as shown by the picture.

STEP 9
Make sure to test the cables using LAN
Tester before installing them.
(The teacher will demonstrate the procedure
in creating straight through cable.

Those are the steps in creating straight

through cable. My question is who would like (a volunteers from the class will perform the
to perform the procedures? Any volunteer? procedures in creating straight through cable)

Generalization:
Now that you already have the knowledge in
straight through cable. Who can give me the
importance of using straight through cable?
Yes___________. You’re raising your hand.
IV. Application
Students will group into four (4) will perform
Each group will perform the procedures in
creating straight through cable, with the use
